I am a beginner so i dont know much…but my guess is if you have a good amount of muscle…have bodyfat under atleast 12%…you are going to look dense? I may be wrong…but i cant see how you wouldnt if you have alot of muscle and train hard…that would be a sick joke if you didnt look “dense”

Density? She’s boasting more muscle in that “after” pic, period. Looks leaner too.

Actually she was leaner in the before shot. She didn’t leave herself enough time for the contest prep. She was supposed to be at the top end of the middleweight division but missed it by 3 lbs. In the before pic she was at the bottom end of the middleweight class. So for her to look leaner when she was actually tighter in the first pic is further evidence that low reps do increase muscle density. By the way, she still managed a third place finish in the heavyweight class.
I love when people say there gonna “tone” a muscle rather then “build” muscle. I hate to break it to everyone muscle will only do one thing, get bigger or get smaller. Toned and dense is genetics and bodyfat.
When I think of dense, female bodybuilders are the first thing that pop into my mind.

Definition is mostly a matter of bodyfat. But muscle tonus (how tnese your muscle are at rest and not flexing) is actually impacted by training methods and does impact appearance, as I said in my above post. I believe Thib has an article on it.
