Demigod before 35 (Aldebaran)

None so far… It will be just not to eat bad stuff for a while and then I’ll see

I wish, not even or barely 16" :joy:

You wear them well. Lookin pretty damn good for 6’1! Back lookin good too man

DT breaks me every single time. My forearms can’t cope, which is most likely a sign of how bad I am at the hang cleans. If I pulled full cleans I think I’d stand a better chance. You did some solid work on it.

Thank you, it was indeed very tough. Some sets I did with hook grip, other double overhand, but it was more my hip power than my grip here that failed me, and I was stopping when I was catching it lower than I would like ahah indeed full cleans would probably be easier!

The demigods are now starting a “To look like Aldebaran” log…

Thanks you’re too good… Having a real hard time staying motivated to train right now, but still trying my hardest!

Found a vid of the cleans. Second set I believe. not the best idea to do them with Chucks lol. Trust me, they look a thousand times better than they felt

Today, last and biggest written exam. Feeling a bit down because of the cumulated fatigue I guess (though I slept 9h30 this night). Treating myself with a chicken BBQ pizza, a beer and some strawberry cheesecake ice cream!

One week to go before a 6 week school stopping

Did you use a strategy on DT or just go until you couldn’t?

I’ve do:

12 deads, 9 cleans, 6 jerks, 11 deads, rest

Pick up bar for cleans (that’s the 12th deadlift), do 8 cleans, rest

Pick up bar, do 9th clean, 6 jerks, 11 deads, rest

I repeat this routine until finished.

Yes that’s the intended strategy, that I devised to the mates as well. Truth at set 3 I already had no juice for the cleans and were doing them 4 by 4 then 1 lol

Sets 3 and 4 of jerks done in 2 times as well

Even the deadlifts afterwards I was doing them by 10 then 2 (when I did 100 x 100 kgs in 8 minutes lol)

That was not a good day :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve only done DT with the scripted weight of 155 lbs once and I finished in 15:05. That was 9.20.20. In 11.20.20, I did it in 11:32 with 135 lbs. If I could cut that time in half and add weight then I could compete in CF.

That’s a solid performance! And then you say you have bad cardio

I don’t have much trouble taking on something like DT. I’ve created some terrible conditioning circuits to avoid running.

Ahah yeah it’s not the same kind of cardio… You mostly became super good with lactic and not so good with the oxydative pathway ahah… I train a boxer guy facing the same dilemma :stuck_out_tongue:

A. Ramp up to 1 RM on military press (75 was fast and almost easy, but failed 80)

B. 80 % of that weight for max reps so 10 x 60kgs

C. “COE”

10 thrusters 40 kgs
10 push-ups

10 rounds

My mate said that it would be too easy. Lol no took 17 minutes, my shoulders were just DEAD.

Finally starting, for realsies this time, THE DIETING DOWN. No backing off, no derailing on the weekend. I’m acountable. Let’s do this for 6 weeks baby

@Koestrizer @Spock81 thanks guys… Aiming to lose just maybe 5kgs? For promotion, IG and website

Really motivated right now, if I prep before the hardest days it’ll be easier. Also realized I’ll be on “holydays” for 6 weeks so just one job ahah so way less stress and easier time to diet down

Hi guys, haven’t posted this week because I was too terribly tired!

09/02

Team of 2 WOD

40 m sprint/ chair plank
40 m wheelbarrow
20 push-ups + 20 air squats
40 m shoulder teammate carry
20 m high knee running + 20 m sprint/ mountain climbers
20 m teammate clean and throw
30 push-ups + 20 burpees

4 rounds

Yeah this was pure hell, especially the day after the COE WOD… My triceps weren’t just holding! The push-ups were horrible, but the rest was fine. But the push-ups man… I was doing them 3 by 3 at the end… my arms are so weak

11/02

10 KB Swings with 16, 24, 28, 32, 38, 40 kgs in a row

Lots of KB work

A KB class today. It was great! Very instructive and all, and the little challenge proved a good workout

12/02

3/7 undulating Legeard-style

Bench press:

1 x 3 with 102,5 kgs
1 x 2 with 105 kgs
1 x 1 with 102,5 kgs
1 x 7 with 92,5 kgs
1 x 6 with 95 kgs
1 x 5 with 92,5 kgs
1 x 1 with 110 kgs

Then, the afternoon:

1 hour + of cardio, military press work, rope climbing and such, then another WOD of the death:

Team of 3:

2 are doing 30 wall-ball shots + 30 pull-ups
the other one is doing burpees over a 2 box wall

Same hell… The wall-balls were fine but once again the push-ups… My triceps couldn’t keep up… Especially after the bench press work 2 hours earlier + 3 RM on military press lol. I need to reeinforce my arms!

The bench workout was tough and I feared I couldn’t do it, but I did! We felt quite unstable today on the bench, but this was most likely the issue of the the heavy KB swings that had smoked our backs and core the day before.

Nice, tough workout.

Now I’m on hollydays for 6 weeks. Gonna go to the gym on monday and start a new program with my mate from class.

I’m devising an athletic conjugate plan, but something simpler, brutal, to the point. Goals are strength, size, power and fat loss! EVERYTHING

Size and fat loss mostly because we didn’t trained much for a good month so it will be easier. Volume will be a bit higher than what I recommend because we’ll be on holydays so way less stress, ample time for recovery.

We have around the same built, maxes, weakness and strength so this will great, and having a training partner for the first time will certainly prove to be a boon, I’m so excited!

So it will be:

Monday: Max effort upper, main lift rotating every week for a 1RM then size and strength
Tuesday: Max effort lower
Wednesday: Aerobic capacity with military fun runs
Thursday: Power upper, power-endurance and hypertrophy
Friday: Power lower, power-endurance and metcon (aerobic power)
Saturday: Metcon and bonus hypertrophy

Hesitating if the monday is upper or lower, I’m probably gonna go with upper because heavy posterior chain works impacts quite my bench press…
