Little session today, wanted some regular strengthening, but honestly I had nailed it, this was less motivating and harder to complete and to be “in the zone” than the WODs.

Happy with my mind-muscle connection now. Damn my pecs were gorged with blood already after the first set of dips. Don’t underestimate these techniques, they are brutal!

Not too much work, especially lower body, for tomorrow’s WOD is most likely going to be brutal.

45 mins walk with the dog this morning, then work tonight to move around more.

Sleep still not great, so I decided to cut down to 1 glass of diet coke per day and less coffee.

Annoying life events with people but heh. Resolve is strenghtening a lot, don’t need much motivation now. I can feel my iron will coming back. I’m the meantime I’m not worrying much about nutrition and all, and take these two weeks as a deserved deload.

Still didn’t study today, thanks my genetics for having a crazy memory. But meeting with my mate tomorrow to work and study, this will be nice.

Has it been? I admit to rarely reading people’s workouts, but I haven’t gotten the impression that you’ve done things concurrently that much. Maybe intra-session?

Well yeah, before last eyar I was doing always a blend of strength and hypertrophy, sometimes with even more stuff in the mix

Ever try two strength sessions, and two hypertrophy sessions, in a week?

Yeah, in my greener years, the Power Hypertrophy Upper Lower. I was listening to some lecture by Israetel and I think I agree with him: the more experienced you are, the more specificied your training should be in order to reach your goals. Training everything at the same time certainly won’t work as well on me as 5 years ago.

So much for me to agree with in the last 10 posts here.

@aldebaran - I definitely think you hit something with specificity matters more the more advanced you get. It’s mostly the pure beginners that don’t have any intention of hitting a bodybuilding stage or powerlifting platform that are worried about interference effect, etc.

@dagill2 and @T3hPwnisher I’m absolutely on board with your thoughts about humility vs. timidity. I used to have far too many sayings, but one was that the American flag on your shoulder won’t win any battles - dudes used to drive me nuts thinking they didn’t need to do the basics; on the opposite end of the spectrum you had folks that were so risk adverse they never hit a decisive moment.

Anyway, ramble complete… for now…

To clarify, they’re Pwns thoughts (along with a few other people), I just plagiarised.

“Mansy”

10 Rounds for time

7 Pull-ups
17 Push-ups
77 Squats

Time 36’43

Met with a friend a studied all day anatomy, then went to the park for some action! He wanted to do a muscle-up and put it on IG so I was explainign the technique and what he was doing wrong and I tried some and I never managed to do more than 1 muscle-ups and this time I did 4???

And I’m heavier ahah! So I’m guessing these WODs, these million pull-ups as well as kipping pull-upos when I was tired were helpful.

Then the WOD. Was easier than I thought it would be. We never did the strict pull-ups or push-ups unbroken. By the end legs were burning and with fatigue the heart rate was creeping up nicely! So a good workout. Was hungry af and treated myself with lots of chicken, fries, stewed apples and a gargantuan ration of mayonnaise

Looks like you belong on the French gymnastics team there

Maybe with 15 kgs less ahah but well, do bodyweight, become better at bodyweight…

“Wade”

1200 m run

4 RFT

12 strict pull-ups
9 strict dips
6 strict HSPU

1200 m run

25’19

Was harder than it looks, especially the HSPU! But not too hard, and quite quick. I feel all this running, pull-ups and other bodyweight movements have strengthened my abs. They are hard as concrete now!

Tonight a nice fondue, then a cerebral destruction starring Cîroc vodka and chartreuse.

Happy new year to everyone from me and my dog!

Mate, your english is fine. I was just joking that you and your mate were spending all day “studying anatomy”. I spent much of my teenage years in these studies.

It’s 7:30 pm here
@dagill2 I wish it was a play on words and I were with a girl lol but i have to know all muscles, their insertions and actions and it takes a loooot of work

I’m a bit late here, but this reminded me of the foundation of a book called Emotional Survival for Law Enforcement.

Life isn’t fair but you control how you respond. You can play the victim, feel sorry for yourself, and do the bare minimum or you can accept it, make the most of your circumstances, and keep on winning at life.
