Demigod before 35 (Aldebaran)

Awesome squat work above. I have a serious love/hate relationship with squats. I have short legs for my height (i’m 6’3 and my wife at 5’9 has the same length legs) so squats work okay with my physique strength wise, but I hate that light-headed feeling they give.

I get the same way after training hard/working 9 hours a day (I don’t have a physical job, but it still takes mental energy). I make dumb mistakes, get more clumsy, and in general can’t think as fast. Rest/sleep almost immediately fixes it.

Which one? I’m interested hehe. taht’s the problem with bodybuilding stuff, but yeah, there are. It was a long time ago but I did his “Mountain Dog for intermediates” and “Reactive Pump Hypertrophy” from T-nation and I think they were quite short (intermediate for sure)

Colossus has the least volume and if you don’t warm-up a lot like I do the pump days are 30 mins tops and the heavy days less than one hour probably

I’m the opposite anatomy-wise but I just love sthem for some reason. I only hate high reps work because my technique goes to shit and my lower back starts screaming

For sure, that’s why I prefer training in the afternoon, after my work. But today, tomorrow and wednesday I have to work out in the morning for I work in the evening…

My hack squat is super old school, but I bet I could find a way to rig it up. Some guys at my gym routinely do reverse banded smith machine incline bench, and THAT looks amazing. In general, reverse banded stuff is great, IMO. Fixes the resistance curve right up.

This is basically my nutrition everyday. It’s an approach that works pretty well for me when I’m consistent with it.

25/05 - Odysseus - Push 1 - Week 1

A. Chaotic Incline Bench 2 x 10 with 4 x 10 kgs weights hanging

B. Bench Press 20 x 3 with 94 kgs

C. Reverse Flyes 2 x 25 with 25 kgs

D. Mechanical Drop Set Seated Press + Incline Bench + DB Bench 2 x max with 24 kgs

E. Duffin Row 2 x 12 with 20 kgs

F. Dual Rope Pushdown 2 x 15 with 30 kgs

G. Skullcrusher 2 x 8 with 40 kgs

So yeah we did 20 sets at 80% in 20 mins. That was really tough. This is the kind of workout when you’re happy you have a training partner lol!

When U’ll be doing the Unity and I have like 15 x 2 with 55% it will feel like shit ahahahh

It was a great effort, and my joints took a bit of a beating. Bit tired today, probably the aftermath from sunday’s drinking. Also worked late at Mcdonald’s yesterday and I relaly dislike it. With the stress and excitation I have trouble falling asleep and I feel I don’t sleep as well

The chaos bench were fun, we had four 10 kgs plates hanging from bands. Nice stabilization

I’ll probably honestly skip one exercise from each workout (here the mechanical drop set most likely) for this is a lot of main movement volume, and I’d rather use a bit more caution

I worked at a McDonald’s for 3 months as a teenager. That was all I could handle. Horrible environment and you quickly realize how bad that cheap food really is. Oh, and I smelled like french fry grease everyday.

I’m at 3 years now ahah. I have no money right now, but I won’t be there on July the 1st. The smell of grease is one thing, but what really annoys me is irrespectful people…

It’s a bit frightening, but I know what I want, and that I’ll be able to get better in the meantime. Confident that I put the work out necessary for it. That I won’t die in the street or anything lol.
Comfort is the enemy of our dreams!

My brother worked there and he came home smelling like it. It wasn’t fry grease smell, more like machine and ice cream smell.

Kinda late, but the squats looked super smooth!

Had to google this - but results were not conclusive.

Is this the one where you sort of birddog balance on the bench while one-hand rowing?

Oh yes I see what you’re talking about! But it’s this one

@Bagsy thanks I think I feel comfortable enough. Sure If I you want to put up bigger number I need to get tighter, but I don’t fret over my squat form nowadays

Are these different than using a barbell? Athlene X says barbell upright rows are the worst shoulder exercise.

No only that, @EyeDentist says it as well - so it must be true :+1:

Yeah I hate upright rows. These feel differently, or you could use a pulley. They really do feel better!

I’m doing them sure because it works the med delt, but also the rest of the stabilizers

Ah, ok. Kinda relieved actually - what I found looked kinda alternative

Yes some straight-up Joel Seedman shit :joy:

I can see it being useful for the core, but I’m not doing this, and not just because it looks ridiculous ahah

I really don’t think these deserve the hate they get. Just like almost any exercise, they can be modified to be lower-risk.

Wide-ish grip, only pulling to parallel? Absolutely torches the lateral delts. Personally, this is one of the only ways I can get my shoulders to feel anything.

Close-grip, flaring your elbows up by your ears? Probably gonna have some issues.

Good to know. I was using close grip and flaring my elbows. I think I want to use the pulley now. I never thought of that. I pretty much do everything athlene X says. I don’t normally blindly listen to people, but Dorian Yates and Athlene X are beyond question.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Athlean X has given a LOT of bad advice, like breathing out before squats instead of breathing in. Also was using fake weights. He’s a YouTube personality - they are NEVER beyond question, bro.

But he has also given a shitload of really helpful advice - in particular about keeping healthy and recovering from injuries and ailments.

I am pretty sure the fake weight thing turned out to be a false accusation, dimly recall reading that some guy apologized publicly for making it.
