Demigod before 35 (Aldebaran)

I mean, I can relate.

What you’re saying doesn’t not make sense. But I don’t think holding yourself to high physical standards is immature.

Today back pump day

Nice easy good session, nothing crazy to note. I used DBs instead of the EZ bar for the heavy bicep stuff though, (better for my joints) and I’m very happy that was using the 40lbs with very strict form and no pain…

It’s sunny and beautiful, tonight I’m seeing my friends, and as yesterday was the birthday of one of them, I’ll most likely cheat hehe. But after these last 3 days’ effort, I think it’s okay to do so! I feel very good with my body and my mind anyway. With a pump, in the gym, I look incredible!

Yesterday I was ravenous, but I hold fast, as my brother-in-law and my sister were splurging on snickers, chocolate and whatever just by my side. I just ate an apple ahah

Today some back shot after the session, trying to replicate a famous Arnie pose

I think you might actually be more ripped than Arnold was in the pic

Thank you but NO!! I just check at some pics to replicate this one, and I had forgotten how big and ripped and detailed his back was. I’m 82-83 kgs and he was 100-110 lol.

TBH I’m more ripped than his son, whose picture I copied (but I have also trained for more years and am older lol)

Colossus - Last push pump

Great session voerall, the pump day really feel amazing (appart from the destroyer sets of 100 swings…). Pump is good, strength is super good, and I’m feeling really good!

Leaving you with a smile for once!

A bit tired today but that’s okay, next week is a big fat deload. Just 3 very easy training days (4-5 reps in reserve), and 2 cardio. I won’t be logging either (not that I’m really logging, since it’s a paying program and I’m not unveiling it all), and will take a break from social media as well. Resting the body and mind!

Drank beers and a big fat pizza yesterday, but honestly I kinda regretted it (the pizza at least) because I was really full and my belly hurt for hours lol! I really enjoy my diet TBH, I don’t even want to cheat appart from some chocolate. It’s quite easy for me right now to follow it

Last day of Colossus

A triple drop set on the squats… It was really tough. Used only 110 kgs for the first ten reps because I’m a bit traumatized by the leg press, and I wanted to keep my form as good as possible. And I don’t regret it (as well as my knees probably) because during the last drop at 60 kgs, my quads were still burning like fire! But the worst part was obvioulsy the bas/lower back, second drop I had trouble breathing with the belt so I took it off, it was just horrible

Then some sets of 15 with double low contraction on the hack squats, my quads were begging for mercy…

Anyway now, a nice week of deload! Only 3 very easy training sessions, and I’ll bump up the calories by 200-300 for this week

Flex vs no flex is a big difference, so is pump vs no pump. But honestly, even without pump I have some striation and veins everywhere so I’m really freaking lean.
I’m like 82-83 kgs. Honestly I’m not even sure I want to go lower, I don’t want to look too small. We’ll see! I’m very satisfied with the progress anyway, and the plan will be to maintain this/gain 1 kgs over the summer

Also wanted to share this pic that made us laugh so much, a collage of our recent brutal leg days :joy: (no we’re not pretending)

It looks like you’ve really come a long ways in the past year.

Enjoy this and try to keep it going! I’m a little jealous of your training partners. I’ve never had that. I’ve tried a couple times and people let me down and I move on without them.

I rarely mix pizza and beer. Pizza is a terrible appetizer to beer. I swear it expands once the beer hits it. It’s like the yeast in either the beer or pizza is reactivated.

Yeah it took months of effort when I think about it, it was a process, but after several weeks doing this “strict” now it’s really easier. I guess eating differently also have altered my brain chemistry and digestive flora and all. I must confess I drink lots of decaf coffee and diet coke though

But I’m not super strict in the bodybuilding sense either. I had a bar of chocolate yesterday, I have like 2 “pleasure meals” a day. Like today and yesterday I had a salad with grilled cheese, or pulled pork and oven fries yesterday noon etc I eat lots of whole bread

Honestly It’s really great, after training alone for like 6-7 years. It’s really motivating and it’s really fun sharing the process, the pain and the reward

Honestly I’m so unaccustomed to alcohol now I drink like 33 cl of beer and I’m drunk so it doesn’t expand that much :joy:

I cut out drinking for the month of April and I increased my diet soda consumption, as well. I’ve been drinking coffee so long that the caffeine doesn’t do anything for me.

I eat treats every day now and I don’t care. I’m happy and my physique is fine. My Facebook page shared a memory from two years ago today. It was back in my deep cut and I just look freaking skinny. The shirt I’m wearing in the photo is too small for my arms now.

Going super strict is a good learning experience, but it’s almost like playing with a recreational drug. It can slowly lead to an addiction. I’m seeing that in this year’s T-ransformation thread for some guys. Eating without an app or food scale is the way to go. Some of us just struggle to find that happy medium.

Beer first and food later is the way to go. I can drink a few good beers and feel buzzed/drunk and then eat dinner. After the food, I don’t want to drink anymore. It’s a method that helps me minimize my drinking.

A granny smith apple with cashew butter on it just as good as a snickers. And comes with no regret.

This.

I learned a lot being super strict, but I let it go too far and nutrition began to dominate everything. I’m digging myself out of that hole at present.

@aldebaran Looking good, man—keep it up!

I relaly like that quote by Dave tate about how “to know where the limit is, you have to cross it sometimes”.

I think being strict for a while helped me find my balance in dieting. If you really want to have true balance, you need to experience both sides of the equation

Awesome work and looking jacked as always.

I am about to start Meadows’ “Thanos” program next week (offered to his mountain dog members) and these pics make me scared to try his workouts. lol. Hopefully strength and size increase thanks to the brutal effort I see in my future.

Thank you good sir!

Ooooh interesting, I didn’t know about that program!

Well Colossus is most likely his most brutal program, top 3 for sure (I haven’t done all of them) and is listed on his website as “very high intesnity” so…
You won’t be ramping on the floor as much, but for sure it’s gonna be tough!

I can only recommend his work. If you want to get jacked, well, train like a bodybuilder! But this way of training is also very enjoyable and easy on the joints and connective tissue so for me it’s a must.

I didn’t relaly want to log this week, but it’s just because I don’t want to feel like I have to.
But I want to! Just like I said I didn’t wanted to post on IG but I did anyway because I felt like it. Just an easy, relaxing week.

16/05

A. Rower medium intensity 20 min

B. 50 OVH Med Ball Lunges
C. 75 Med Ball Press
D. 100 Med Ball Squat
E. 75 Med Ball Squat Clean
F. Med Ball Box Jumps

Just a little circuit session, I did it because this a WOD I had planned for some people and I estimated the time really accurately. Nice change of pace from the litteral annihilation I submitted my muscles recently.

17/05 - Morning

A. Squat ramp up to 1 x 140 kgs
B. Axle Clean and Push Press 3 x 2 with 90 kgs

Spent most of the day at the Crossfit box of one of my teacher. Coaching and talking and laughing, it was a really good day. Trained with the intern and followed her program, but instead of doing a 1RM I stopped at 140. And honestly it felt waaay tighter and better than the 130 just better! So this is good but at the same time it is frustrating, because I feel I really try to brace as much as I can every set, but apparently, I didn’t do it on the set prior.

First time with an axle! I saw it, I had no choice but to use it! It felt amazing pressing it. Really cool stuff, I’d enjoy deadlifting or pressing it for sure

17/05 - Noon

EMOM 32’

  1. 15 cal Rower
  2. 15 cal Ski Erg
  3. 15 cal Bike Erg
  4. Rest

8 rounds

This hit me harder than I thought, especially the breathing muscles lol. I was not used to cardio anymore. It was tough, but it felt good. My technique on the ski erg is terrible. But on the rower it was getting better: at round 4, it took me less than 25 secs for the 15 cals

17/05 - Evening

A. Twisting DB Incline Bench 3 x 12 with 26 kgs

B. Bench Press 3 x 5 with 80 kgs

C. Face Pull 3 x 15 with 30 kgs

D. DB Z-Press 3 x 10 with 16 kgs

E. Triceps Rope Pushdown 2 x 15 with 20 kgs

F. machine Dips 2 x 10 with 100 kgs

easy session, kept everything RIR 5+ (like the bench was at 68% lol) but honestly, with the two previous workout, it felt tougher. My legs are still criplled BTW.

I’m exhausted tonight! But the rest of the week: rest I promise, just 2 easy gym sessions like this one.

Gonna eat a big fat 1600 cals cheat tonight: “confit de canard”, duck confit, with pasta.

And I don’t care! This is week is supposed to be higher in calories, and with having spent my whole day at the gym, I thing my body needs it ahahah

Ate chocolate and italian biscuits yesterday, but I don’t care as well. My teacher said that I had leaned out a lot and that I looked great. I feel no pressure. I’ll resume being stricter with the calories tomorrow, and now that in two weeks I’ll look great. I already do and I feel good honestly, and this what matters the most! It was a good day again.

Makes sense, that’s a lot of work for a single day

I saw this

and then I saw this

and people accuse me of being good at things the first time I do them. Nice work champ.

It really didn’t felt much different from a regular bar, but pressing felt amazing! I tried the continental clean and failed though, I need more belly or a belt :joy:

The Hell is this?! I think I am lean enough :joy:

Dude, time to pack some size on that frame, you clearly have some genetic factors that make all that insanely hard work show like crazy.
