Defeated is a State of Mind

Hey everyone,
New here, not much of a forum person; but given a recent event, I feel like I need something to keep my mind in the game. Recently I was officially diagnosed with an inguinal hernia, it’s very small and Can repair itself in some weeks, as long as there’s no pressure added to it. The easiest thing would probably just be relaxing it out, However, I won’t submit that easily. After talking it over with the doc I’ve devised two small circuits that I’m going to try out, to keep me active, and in some small way, progressing.

I’ll be doing these two every three days. The exercises I’ve picked will all be done seated, mainly prone on incline, and should not stress my inguinal area.

One:
A. DB Press : 20lbs
B. Overhead Extension : 60Lbs
C. Wrist Curl : 25Lbs

Two:
A. Row : 20lbs
B. DB Curl : 20lbs
C. DB Shrug : 35Lbs

I don’t plan on increasing weight, instead I’m going to increase reps or sets, carefully and gradually, making sure I am in total control and not pushing myself too hard. I’m glad it’s not to the point where I have to discuss surgical options yet, but I am pretty Pissed I can’t lift as I normally do.

I understand this might be, and probably is, weak sauce for this site; but it’s something to keep me at ease and possibly motivated more as I reach full recovery, to come back stronger and faster.

Until next time… And again, Hello.
