Decreasing U.S. Life Expectancy

This is just sad:

So we’ve actually hit that point as a nation where future generations may not live as long as their parents. The frightening part is that those who dispute the study, do so on the basis of the fact that while obesity may be getting worse, medicine is improving and hence life expectancy will continue to rise.

In other words, we will be fatter (with all of the lovely quality of life issues associated with that condition) but living longer. Good times.

I know a lot of this is not any kind of news to the T-Nation crowd, but that does not make this New England Journal of Medicine report any easier to take.

[sarcasim]I’m shocked![sarcasim/]

What do you expect when people tell you that eating so healthy is not good for you? Maybe we are all getting dumber too?

LOL No, I knew none of us would really be all that shocked by news like this. I think it was just a matter of time. But still stunning that we expect to make up with medicine things we have complete control over in our lives. It should stop amazing me at this point, but you know what analog? It never does.

This thread is elsewhere.

I will post it again…

Good!!!

This is also happening in the UK and more than likely all western (and increasingly) developing worlds.

For example, the No. dying in the world currently from smoking related conditions is around 20 million.

in 20 years it will be 500 MILLION!

I couldn’t believe it.
