That guy needs to be beat up. That’s a disgrace.

You make it sound like a drug. I play on weekends if I play at all. It never caused me to think I was taking so much time away from bettering myself.
Maybe you just need an intervention.
Back when I was way into the Splinter Cell games - I would actually look at a room and try to figure out the stealthiest way to get across it.
Sounds totally gay - but I have a very addictive personality. It happens. Now I have taken up knitting. Much healthier.

He’s ruined the whole image for me. I will never look at that game the same way again.

I used to have dreams about Tomb Raider.

I heard that Halo 3 will be out soon!!
And you can play live with gamers on the 360 as well as PC, how cool is that?
Seriously, I let my kids play the games and if I see it is affecting them negatively, then I would put a stop to it, it’s simple it’s in my house and at $500 a pop on average for the consoles, I don’t think the 10 year olds are buying them…
HALO WARS!!! If you haven’t seen the Preview take a look!!
Too bad it’s not by Bungie but shit still looks sweet.
What is so incredibly silly about all of this is that they will look at kids today and not take into account all of the other factors besides video games.
For instance, I am of the age (33) that is probably the first video game generation. I had an Atari 2600 in 5th grade and have been playing video games ever since. And looky looky! Somehow I managed to be a productive member of society!
Instead, they will do some observations on kids who are undisciplined, out of shape and with overly permissive parents and conclude the games make you that way (or alternatively they make you psychotic little robots… I love how they claim they do BOTH).
Finally, do you think they will even spend 5 minutes talking about the benefits of video games? Problem solving skills. Improved eye hand coordination. Hell, there are studies showing how surgeons (especially those performing laparoscopic surgery) have improved operating room performance and fewer mistakes based on their playing video games.

I hate them.
OK, but why do you hate Children??? ;^)
I love these studies because it always reminds of the Church of the Flying Spagetti Monsters proof that the decline of the pirate population is a direct cause of global warming.
Someday the US government is going to do something valid and useful with our tax dollars. This will cause 7.3% of American citizens to drop dead of a heart attack from the shock. No seriously. I have studies to PROVE it!
Have computer games negatively affected me? Well, I’ve had a couple of dreams where I was ‘CJ’ from GTA:San Andreas.
Raise up, dude!
You wrecked my shit!
That paper’s mine!
You callin’ CJ a bitch!
Also, my girlfriend threatened to leave me for giving the game more attention than I gave her. It was a close run thing…
I used to play a lot of videogames. If it wasn’t an addiction, it was damn close. I still play on occasion, but not nearly as much. Mostly play-and-forget games like Madden or GTA.
One day I realized that the gamer lifestyle is a little too close to the stoner lifestyle for me. You spend every free moment on couch, you can easily spend over $100-200 a month on it, you never meet new people, you start to look like a mudslide when you take your shirt off, and when your boss asks you what you did on the weekend you can’t look him in eye.

LOL!
Jack Thompson is at it again folks!!

Another worthless lawsuit. Still trying to figure out how GTA teaches you how to hold a gun more than say, action movies. People will do anything for money these days.

The kid was 14! If the parents wouldn’t have BOUGHT the damn game for him or allowed him to play it, he wouldn’t have had it to begin with. Did he buy his own playstation?
I’m playing that game for an extra hour this weekend just because of this.
My son played GTA when it first came out on the PC, then Xbox etc. When he heard that a couple of kids (13 & 14 yo I believe) wrecked their parents car and the excuse they gave was becasue they wanted to act out the GTA game, my son said “Fucktards!” Of course I don’t condone his choice of words but I did say, “You’re correct and watch your language… retards would be sufficient”
When kids do not know the difference between reality and gaming there is another problem here, not gaming. Put these kids in the harsh reality of true gang life, and I bet they would wet their pants. I’m an adult and I know better than to piss off a “real” gangsta…
I think video games are geat.
I mean,come on!
Kids have always had some way to entertain themselvs.Video games aren’t something new. They’ve beeen out for many years now.
Before kids did play video games, they played with toy solders and set fire to them on their front lawn.
How is that a big difference than a call of duty 3 video game?
Many kids today lack imagination because they don’t read enough.
I think it’s great to play games.Just not to the point were it consumes your whole life(unless you do it for a living).
There needs to be a balance to everything.
Thats another reason why I’m not gonna even think about voting for Hilary Clinton when that bitch runs.
She’ll ruin everything.

Congratulations on raising your son to have some common sense.
