But if it is wrong to drink milk from animals - wouldn’t it follow that it is wrong to breast feed your children?
I think the argument is that it is wrong to keep animals captive merely to extract their milk for human consumption; not that milk consumption is wrong.
From a dietary perspective humans aren’t meant to drink any milk other than their mother’s. We can see evidence of this with lactose intolerance.
I do very well with milk and other dairy products.
Ants drink a secretion from aphids much the same way humans drink milk.
People are allergic to all kinds of foods. That does not mean all humans are not meant to eat them, just that certain people are unfortunate.
It is time to stop spreading PETA propaganda.[/quote]
I am not necssarily arguing from a perspective from which I follow. I just recently stopped drinking milk because I was having BM issues…want details?
From a genetic perspective it doesn’t stand to reason that we should be any different that our ancestors from a 400 generations ago–about 10,000 years. Many geneticists will tell you that is not enough time to completely adapt to a new product. It only stands to reason that we adapted with what we had available to the human diet for the last 2 million years. The last 10,000 since the advent of agriculture are merely a blib in that respect.
Here is more on the subject of the natural human diet that is a defense against vegetariansim.
