Death Caused by Pain Cream

Don’t want this happening to anybody around here:
Ms. Newman’s mother, Alice Newman, said she still could not believe that her daughter’s death had been caused by a sports cream.

“I am scrupulous about my children?s health,” she told The Advance. “I did not think an over-the-counter product could be unsafe.”
This type of thinking right here is why eventually we will have so many confines and bans on everyday supplements that we will have to buy protein powder from blackmarket sources in 10 years.

You are NOT “scrupulous” if you think over the counter medication can be taken without concern for long term use. Even taking Motrin long term is dangerous. OTC doesn’t mean “take as much as you damn well please and don’t read the warnings”.

She must have been literally bathing in that medication on a daily basis.

Apparently the warning on the label was not strong enough. It needed to say: WARNING: Do not use more than one tube a day. Not for human consumption. Product will become hot if heated.

Don’t forget:
Do NOT use as pastry topping

Do NOT use as a sexual lubricant

Do NOT use as a facial masque for costumed Halloween parties

Do NOT use for finger paintings of Bob Dole’s profile only to sit in it later just to feel the cream squish through your butt cheeks for hours as you watch Sex In The City re-runs on Tivo

You have to make sure you cover everything. You can get sued for leaving that shit out.

Agree with X. Woman is ridiculous - she is aware that all sorts of things you can buy without a prescription are dangerous, right? Shit, eating too many flinstones vitamins can kill you.

On a similar note, Prof I hope you’re still not drinking Spike by the gallon any more…

Lol. My sunscreen had the same warning. Good thing I watched Sex and The City reruns on a VCR, could’a been dead now.

Don’t be silly. I’m not stupid.

However, is anyone else finding it hard to keep the carbonation fizzing when you pour into those plastic quart containers? I swear, by my fourth one of those, I just don’t feel the “pop” anymore.

Then what do they mean by “mentholated Deep heating” ?

Damn; I really liked that warm, tingly sensation.

This is why I have to believe that there was something more at work here. Is it possible she had some kind of allergic reaction? The amount of ben-gay she would have to be taking to kill an otherwise healthy person would have to be so great … I just can’t imagine anyone actually taking that much

I’d be cautious with any medication. My friends girlfirend got Stephen Johnson’s Syndrome from nurofen.

Thats some bad shit to have happen.
