Dealing With the Intensity

You know, at the end of it all this was an OK week for me. Yeah, I feel like total shit right now (currently idling at a steamy 102.2) but in the long run I learned a few (really pertinent) things, most of which have been clearly pointed out above.

I ate a little sloppy today (a home-made chicken quesadilla - but all fresh ingredients) but damn I needed it. I dropped to 200.2# It’s funny, but I honestly can’t believe that I didn’t see I was eating like a 12 year old girl…

There was no way in hell I could lift today (shit, my joints ache so bad right now I’m lucky I can type) but I am hoping that maybe tomorrow I can make up for it I’m a little better.

But even through the mild (and strangely enjoyable) delirium of my toasting melon, I am determined to keep at this, and that’s prolly the best end I could get for a couple weeks of stupidity. Thanks again for the schooling.

Have a good weekend all…

How long have you been doing this diet?

102.2? Damn, I’d work on getting that fever down before your jello starts to melt.

I crashed after 10 days eating in this fashion. I will say that I felt no ill effect other than the final crash - I was never perceptibly hungry (and yes - I was eating every 2 hours!), just headachy and out of steam when getting into my workouts. I didn’t get a Friday workout in last week or this week.

Yeah - I’m a little cooler today, but sadly still really sick. My sinuses are F-ed. sadly I go through this a couple times a year. I have a week in Atlanta coming up (for training that will include a cert test at the end), I really hope this clears up by then…

I know it sounds high, but it is not uncommon for me to top 103. It’s either than or I go really low-grade - like 94! On the bright side my body seems to know what it’s doing and I never, like, lapse into unconsciousness or anything. In fact, last time I was over 103 I was working and felt relatively OK (all things considered).

And good news - went to bed last night at aboot 10:30 and stayed there til 11:30 this moning. And headed back there now…

A bit of follow up…

I got really sick, likely exacerbated by the need to travel for work - yet I found time to do what I could in the crappy hotel gyms in both NJ and ATL.

And I started to eat real food again at regular intervals.

And I am now making my own “breakfast smoothies” not far removed from the suggestion by Streamline (OMG - they ROCK!)

And, amazingly, the earth has not opened and swallowed me in a sinkhole of bad weigh gain. I’ve fairly stabilized at about 204#, and think I’m still burning fat and adding muscle.

I’ve had a couple really good weeks here in my “home gym” - even bought myself a cheap but decent rack to allow me to do “real” squat and other “high bar” stuff. I know I’m still rather in the “pink cloud” phase of getting back to working out - but ALL of my weights went up A LOT, and it’s pretty damn awesome.

And my workouts, while tough, are NOT killing me any longer. Next week I mix up a new “formula”, will post the routine for some critique as I think I need to hit a few body parts that I am not at present…

I have taken to calling out to Ms. Longtorso at off moments and saying “Hey Babe - I got you something!” - and to her excited response of “What? What?” I roll up my sleeve, flex a bicep and say:
“I got you a ticket to the Gun Show!”

Good times.

Thanks again to all for the support and guidance.

Don
