I remember years ago I was at a club where a fight broke out outside between a couple of guys I didnt know and one guy had his face beaten to a pulp, was barely able to stand and was IMO in need of medical attention. It's hard to say how much was due to being drunk. There were several cops leaning against their cars on the road right in front of the club who were witness to it all and I asked if one of them would call an ambulance. They chuckled and refused. I had only a drink or so that night so I dont think my perception was off.
I realize this shit probably happens every night at these places but I’m wondering what everyone here’s opinion of this is. There is no doubt the guy caused his own damage. He was not in a state where he was refusing any help and he wasn’t aggressive at the time either, because if that was a problem then the cops should have been hauling him to the drunk tank.
My opinion is they should have called the ambulance. I didn’t know the guy so he probably went home and woke up in some pain and was okay but who knows.
It doesn’t matter if he was drunk , started the fight or sober. Of course they should have done something. At least, they should’ve checked him out and asked if he was OK. If he was stumbling around and his face was bloody, how could they not call the ambulance or at least question what happened?

Because they dont give a flying fuck.
Someone earlier mentioned liability as a reason why they wouldnt not intervene. While I get where they are coming from, it prob wouldnt work in court. Police are SUPPOSED to be held to a professional standard befitting their position as “societies protectors” or what have you, and so in court the idle police would prob still be in trouble. That is, if it ever went to court.

lol, I was a Marine man, I feel I’ve seen a considerable part of the world. Thanks for the concern though.
Not the same thing at all. Get out on your own.
How silly of me, what was I thinking.
