I put on a pair of shorts I got back in April this morning… sadly, they were a tad to tight for my liking. Yep… I’m a fat ass again. Tomorrow I need to stick to tracking my food and to conditioning. Really annoyed with myself for not being in better shape today. Ive had a goal of being 6-pack lean on the 4th since I was 16. 11 years later and I’ve still failed every damn year. …to next year…
Ate waaaay too much at lunch today. Came home and decided to hit some more deadlifts. Worked up to 5 easy singles at 325. During the warm up sets I felt like my technique was way better. I’ve been essentially squatting the weight up, but finally found the right movement where I’m using more back. I probably stopped using my back as much after hurting in in Feb. I’m going to try and hold off from heavier DLs until Friday.
After the main workout. Did some lat raises and arm crap while watching tv.
And, just cause I was feeling extra masochistic, I went on a 3.2 mile walk with sprints. I’m staying at the top of a huge hill, so it wasn’t a leisurely walk.
Really scenic where you are at the moment. Even I would find it tough not to enjoy a run outside.
Ya, I live in a really nice area. All the rain I put up with from October through June makes July-October nice.
@The_Myth knows what I’m talking about.
Just bought tickets to fly to see my wife’s family at the end of the month. I now have 21 days to lose as much fat as possible before I spend a weekend on the lake.
Didn’t work out much last week, my left hamstring and hip had been hurting pretty bad. I did get in probably 500 pullups since last log tho.
Yesterday, I played two baseball games. So far, the best i’ve played. My body is killing me today tho. I’ve got a dinner meeting tonight and probalby won’t be able to lift again until tomorrow.
Oops… deleted my … OUCH ![]()
Not sure what happened but my hamstring is hurting like it used to. I tore it about 10 years ago, and up until 2 years ago any form of squatting or running hurt it.
Well, my life is out of control again. I put an offer in on a house and it was accepted. All good, but the catch is it isn’t complete yet… which means I get to choose finishes and such. Which means I have a full time job (60hrs a week) managing construction and now I get to do the same for my home.
Had the chance to lift yesterday, but opted for drinks. Had the chance today, but opted for laying down and reading. My only hope right now is not losing too much until I move into the new place next month.
This is definitely a positive, no?
Mate I wouldn’t get to stressed about having a busy few months and slacking a bit with workouts. This is obviously a crazy time for you and if you put more (unnecessary) pressure on yourself than it won’t help anyone. Just do what you can when you feel up to it and in the meantime keep massive ice-cream binges to a once a fortnight frequency ![]()
Exciting stuff though! Congrats on the new house! ![]()
Ya man, congrats on the new house. You’re busy for a month or two? Enjoy your downtime and put training on the backburner for awhile.
You’ll be back with a fire under your ass once all this is finished up. No need to bring additional stress upon yourself.
But still pop in and keep us all in the loop!
Hey, just a what if idea, arrive Portland 7/28, depart 8/1 - if you get into town we should lift/drink/eat ice cream.
Exact dates I’m gone. ![]()
Of course!
Enjoy!
I ended up pitching on sunday, which I have a love/hate relationship with. Love, cause it’s fun and I have nasty stuff. Hate, because I get horrible tendonitis in my elbow and my whole body ends up being sore. Yesterday, I had the time and desire to workout, but my left hamstring was waaaaayy too tight and sore to attempt to deadlift, squat or run. Somehow, my lats, chest and calves are sore from pitching as well.
I have gotten a whole lot of ring pullups and KB curls in however.
I sign papers tomorrow, move in on Saturday and should have the home gym setup to finally workout on Monday. I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am to finally be able to have a permanent home again. Living out of laundry bins has gotten extremely old. Its also been months since I’ve worked out consistently. I’ve definitely gained a bit of flub.
