David Boston

I hope people don’t view me as arrogant b/c of my remark, and I apologize if anyone took offense. However, let’s take a look at this guys argument. We all agree that Boston has a bodybuilder like upperbody. I know that the legs need to be more powerful than the upper body, however, we all know that the upperbody needs to be strong as well. This guy his claiming that having small legs is no big deal. I highly doubt that Ian trained his upperbody for hypertrophy only and then focused only on power for the legs.

john clark, I guess Randy Moss needs to work on his leg size because those skinny legs don’t help him run fast enough. I think you need to stop before you say anything even more stupid

he says it but he’s blowing smoke. David Boston’s faster at 245 than that clown ever was

in addition, he makes a statement with no evidence to back it up. In fact, his assertion is unproveable, therefore worthless

“I know twice as much about training as you do” but “i hope I don’t sound arrogant,” LOL

Hey Peter, yeah Boston has out muscled Bailey for the ball. But that doesn’t stop the fact that in Boston’s carreer he never had more then 5 catches, or more then 80 yards, when Bailey is on him the whole game.

Bailey tends to get burned by crap WR’s, not the good ones.

Been out of town the past few days. peter, I’m going to keep this as CIVIL as I can:
What sport does Boston play? For a minute there, I thought he played football. A CONTACT SPORT. Being 6’2" and 245lbs. you can bet that nobody will try and tackle him from the waist up. That means he’s going to get hit in the legs. To protect the legs from being injured, you’d better have some, not a lot, but some muscle mass. Which Boston has none of below the waist. Any half-decent strength coach will tell you that hypertrophy plays an important part in the training of an athlete. Not as much as absolute strength/speed development, but a part. And I don’t really care that he is faster than me b/c at 20 lbs. less weight I can squat as much as him.

you guys whine like broads. oh yeah, tell me he’s not a juicemonkey after reading that espnmag article and lookin at those pics. that must be one hell of a diet

Good points John, but Boston can run the 40 in 4.3, so who really cares how much he can squat?

It’s also an interesting point regarding hypertrophy. Something that may work against him at times in the upper body, is that his tendons tend to be quite small in comparison to his muscles. Seems like it could be a detriment considering his upper body size, but not in the lower body.

Besides, it seems that Poliquin likes his athletes to have big arms. It’s just one of his personal things. I don’t imagine anyone will be able to strip Boston with guns like those.

John Clark, you can’t really make fun of David Boston because you are as good as him in one stat.
