Davemccright's Dangerous Dave’s Diabolical Log for Density and Destruction

When I first read this I assumed it was because of your accelerator/brake work after leg day!

(Sorry it’s just regular crappy car issues!)

My legs were really shaky while I was trying to walk around the grocery store!

Second chest/back session of my new program! Definitely getting better conditioned as I handled this one a lot better without getting as completely destroyed out of breath. Included one extra exercise to put a little extra focus on my lower lats. At this point I’m just writing in the logbook to show you guys what I’m doing as I really don’t care what weights I’m using as long as I’m getting the feel and mind-muscle connection I’m looking for and training to failure. I’m making some homemade burgers tonight on the barbecue. Definitely looking forward to that! I’ve only had egg whites and fruit so far today haha

Shoulders and Arms. What a perfect training day. Just what the body needs between two big compound movement focused days and what a glorious pump that was achieved! Really getting this workout down to a science. That’s honestly the case for all of these sessions. Just the process of beta testing a new program and working out the kinks. The shoulder section is perfect, Work every delt head and finish with traps. Arms covers every head of the biceps and triceps as well as the brachialis. Obviously room for variations, but I love that structure. The cable curls were done one arm at a time with my arm in front of my body similar to a preacher curl. That movement is fairly new to me but I love it! Got an amazing pump and Mind muscle connection with it! Behind the neck press was brutal but amazing! My shoulders were so cooked after that. Looking forward to legs tomorrow!

Thank you! I really enjoy super-setting antagonist Muscle groups like that. It saves time, gives a better pump and makes the workout more challenging! It’s one of the main things I like best about this training split

New low of 192.6 this morning! Haven’t really had any issues with hunger during this cut. I’ve only had one day over 2275 calories so far. Diet has been almost strictly whole food. Meat, eggs, egg whites, fruit and vegetables. I’ve been basically carb cycling and eating fairly high fat. Only having a protein shake once in a blue moon. I think this approach has helped me stay feeling satiated and the look of my physique seems to almost be improving by the day.

High volume Leg Day! My quads were so pumped by the time I got to reverse Nordic curls, I could barely bend my legs enough to get into position and start the exercise! Just crazy. I was in agony for so much of this session. Far from the heaviest leg day ever, but the volume of work really pushed me to my limit!

Big news Over the weekend that I’m really excited about! This weekend I registered with the NPC and I’ve decided that I’m going to enter the Classic Physique Drug Tested Michigan State Championships. I’m about 10 weeks out and I couldn’t be more excited! Going to start tanning now and try to get crispy Dark by late June.

Chest and back was monstrous today. Had some spaghetti yesterday so I knew I needed to come in and hit things brutally hard today (I always have that mindset). Saw a video of Arnold doing his barbell rows on top of a bench, so I did the same today. Opening set of pullups was very wide, very old school. I’ve been listening to some Franco Columbu interviews and that’s kind of inspired me to do them in this style. You may notice that I left off a set of flys, well I was trying to pose between sets and my chest was so finished at that point that I couldn’t even feel the contraction any more. That felt like my cue to stop. Very excited for Shoulders and Arms tomorrow! Ready for another gargantuan pump!

Got another classic gem for my library last week! Highly recommend this one for anyone that wants to pick up some wisdom from one of the absolute GOATs!

That’s absolutely awesome news, I love following along a good bodybuilding prep (and we don’t get as many as we used to on here, really enjoying @robstein’s return that journal is a gem). Bodybuilding stage prep feels like one of those things that everyone in the iron game should do once just to experience the work, sacrifice, suffering and discipline to get on stage. A true test of grit and fortitude, over a prolonged period of time.

Make sure we get lots of photos!

Another truly classic Shoulder/Arm day in the book. Really pushing a little harder into the pyramid approach, starting light and working my way up. Such a tried and true method used and perfected by the greats. The behind the neck press is one of the best shoulder exercises I’ve done, I’m glad to have it back in the rotation and with a greater focus in the form and range of motion this time, I feel like I’m getting more out of it than I ever have before.

Recovering almost surprisingly well between sessions, but my nutrition has been absolutely on point. First day of lying out in the sun yesterday. Just 15 minutes to start. And of course today it’s rainy and cold haha. Thursday should be nice and I’ll try to get a little more then.

Thank you sir! I’m certainly excited and motivated! I’m finding that I’m really taking my training and diet to another level. I thought that I was giving all I had before, but now I’m REALLY cranking things to a new level.

This leg day was simply brutal. This is a workout I straight up pulled from the back of Arnold’s “Education of a Bodybuilder”. This is his superset program for legs. The high volume ab and calf work is miserable, but it really gives you insight on what it takes to be a champion and that absolutely can’t be discounted. I will definitely keep this workout in the rotation as it kicked my ass.

Absolutely titanic chest and back day. The pump was insane and I also incorporated a new superset that I heard Frank Zane speak about to help bring out my serratus: Pullover and straight arm pulldown. Every week, I’m connecting with these movements a little better, able to get more out of them. The pump is improving. Hit a new low of 191.4 yesterday. Fat is coming off nicely. Still not where I need to be come show day, but making strides and training is continuing to improve!
