Now you are just showing off. LOL
What wasn’t showing off is how that form tweak on incline had me down to 185x8 hahaha I was humbled!
Amazing how a little change can seem to make us instantly weak.
Totally agreed. I’m at a point where if I can make tweaks that make a movement harder, but creates more muscle growth, I’m very much willing to put ego aside to make that happen. I just want to keep learning, applying and improving!
Amazing back day. My back is so loaded with blood, I can barely feel it. Just an insane pump! Really connected well with the low cable rows. I really like those. Learning how to connect with all the different areas of your back really just feels like a super power! 2025 is set to be the best year yet!
Another fantastic arm day. I love supersets. This workout was loaded with them, which is always fun and leads to a great pump. I’ve been taking 15 minutes before every session to do some mobility type of stuff. Rib cage expansion, inhibiting pecs, lats and hip flexors, unlocking lower posterior compression. It’s felt great and has been setting me up for some fantastic sessions. This program freaking rules by the way. It’s a bro split world, and we’re just living in it.
Very sleep deprived today. Had a runny nose last night and it just made it hard to breathe and fall asleep. Had some frustrating stuff with work this morning so the workout was definitely needed and enjoyed! And it was legs, so I was able to really push it hard and get that frustration out. Feels really good. I feel refocused. Still tired, but my mind is clear and I’ve released the frustration. And my legs got crazy pumped!
Continuing to refine my form and biomechanics and boy, oh boy what a difference it has made on my mind-muscle-connection, pump and feeling of stimulation in the target muscle. This has required some noticeable weight reductions in a lot of my lifts, which I am totally fine with. I am not concerned with moving the most weight, but with building the most muscle. This means no leaking tension to other muscle groups, keeping my scapula depressed on chest presses and dips (as well as allowing for good shoulder protraction on the positive portion of the rep), keeping my foot contacts on squats/leg movements (inner heel and met-head under the big toe, trying to flatten the foot out as the knee bends).
These are all concepts I truly began to grasp in 2024, and in 2025 is where I plan to truly master their implementation. This is all still a work in progress and I’m still absolutely learning. I am a student at this.
With all that being said, the chest and delt pump was truly next level today. A fairly long one at an hour and 15 minutes, but I really don’t mind. It felt absolutely great. This is the type of training I truly resonate with. I feel like I’m being true to myself when I Train like a bodybuilder.
Just catching up - you’re doing truly fantastic. I’m seriously so impressed how you just put it in day after day, and the results certainly show. When I’m being really undisciplined with diet (lately), it’s always helpful to come check your log and see you just executing the tried and true!
I appreciate that man! I get a lot of fun and motivation from running a program alongside somebody, especially an experienced gym vet like yourself. Reading your log is very motivating to me. I will say, in regards to diet, I’ve actually had a lot of fun tracking my food. I have enjoyed using the food scale and planning everything that I eat. I’m really eating with a purpose right now, which really makes eating more fun to me! I’m sure it’s tougher for you on the road because you’re probably going out to places and the nutrition info might be hazy or nonexistent. It can also be tough to find meals at restaurants under 1,000 calories lol
I’m here for you if you need support! We’re in this together!
Seeing how much you are a student of bodybuilding, is there likely to a be show in your future?
Much appreciated!
I actually like tracking my food too. We all have a billion excuses, so traveling isn’t any more valid than any other. I’m thinking I need to just have a daily template and “track” via the hand portion control method; it just takes a tiny bit of discipline!
That’s something I’ve been thinking about since I was 12 years old and it remains something that I want to do. I’m going to use this current cut to give me an idea of what it’s like leaning out. I hadn’t done a cut in 2 years and the last time I did, it was more to get presentably lean rather than shredded, which I’m going for now.
Had another really awesome Back day! The Brandon Curry 3-Way Pulldown was absolutely tremendously deadly. I love it!! The lat pump today was simply next level!! Felt like I was really just taking an air pump and filling the lat up with air, it felt fantastic.
Forgot to post up my arm day from yesterday. It was awesome! Mostly just straight sets this time. Definitely enjoyed the exercise selection. Floor press was really fun to do. One of my favorites! The arm pump was absolutely ridiculous as well!
High volume Leg Day today and man it was intense, it was hard. Just brutal. By the time I got to those somersault squats, my quads were in agony. A ton of high quality work for Hamstrings too. The pump was so severe in my hammies that I couldn’t really pull my leg behind me! It was honestly just what I needed today. Excited for chest and shoulders tomorrow!
Chest and shoulders went crazy today. Just getting better and better at nailing that Mind muscle connection/activation on both of these body parts. This is going to be such a game changer going forward. The fact that the weights are lighter is probably a really good thing going forward for my joints. I’ve never had such crazy pumps and awesome activation as I am getting right now. I guess this stuff just comes with more time and experience in the gym as well as continuing to try to learn outside of it. Much needed rest day tomorrow then hitting back on Saturday.
This back day was awesome, it was tough, The Pump was sick, The Challenge sets ruled. I love all of it. I’m a really big fan of these Curry Pulldowns. I think they should definitely stay in the rotation. I have really really loved the Grandmaster, if that’s not clear from my log. Really just connecting with and loving training!
That’s fantastic!
Made some adjustments to today’s leg day. The structure was very close to what was written but some is the exercise selection was guided by Jonathan Warren’s “Broken Bodybuilder Leg Day”. This was an incredible experience! Really experienced a ton of hip internal rotation (beyond what I’m normally able to get to) and an insane amount of quad and hamstring activation as well. I feel like this will really help get my lower body to the next level while also giving me more space and range of motion in my hips. I’ll link The workout below!
