Here’s an update on the fat loss. On the picture on the left, it was May 18-I was 219-already down 13 pounds from my peak weight. In the picture on the right from yesterday June 17-I’m 210. Just about 10 pounds in a month! Very successful cutting phase so far! Very excited to share my results with you guys!
Every time I do spider crawls, my left trap knots up and is uncomfortable for days. Does that ever happen to you or am I just old?
Thankfully that has not happened to me, but I feel how that could happen, because the contraction is so intense
There’s always been part of me that wonders if I could be competitive on stage if I did. I have just always been such a believer in the natural way, especially since I’ve been able to keep making progress! I really appreciate the compliment dude, thank you! Your progress in the last year or two has certainly been awe inspiring!
I sincerely think you could, whether natty or enhanced.
I appreciate that man! One of my friends just competed and did pretty well, which is definitely inspiring to me. I’ve been saying to myself that I will compete some day since I was 12 years old, so I feel very confident in saying it will happen.
Well I forgot to take a picture of the training log today and it’s the first day in the new journal haha. I’ll just try to write everything out from memory. It was a nice hard session. My whole body was extremely sore from the minute I woke up. That last leg day in particular is still kicking my butt lol
Second day eating the concoction bowl pre-workout! It’s so delicious and digests so easy I think I’ll definitely be keeping it! I thought about whether this would be the deload week, but I’m honestly just not feeling the need to right now. I’m crushing it and the soreness has been pretty extreme, but I’m usually good to go when it’s time to hit the body part again. I think the traditional Bodybuilding split will serve me even better when I get to those programs!
Creeping Death II W10D1-Pull
Dumbbell Row 100 4x10
Banded Chins x55 total reps: 32,15,8
Chest Supported Rows 100s 4x8
Banded Pronated Single Arm Rows Grey EFS band 3x10
Banded Good Mornings x30
Hanging Leg Raises 6xFailure
Barbell Curl 105 4x8(+2 partials)
Reverse Curl 85 4x10
The soreness from the last few days is finally coming back down to earth and it’s primarily just my lats and biceps today, which makes sense because I just worked them yesterday.
Absolutely loving the novelty of stimulus I get with this program. Every day is something new and something super fun! Absolutely loving getting in the gym and kicking my own ass in New and creative ways! The pause on the inclines DEFINITELY added some new challenge. The over and back Press absolutely TOASTED my delts. Another lift I haven’t done since my senior year of high school, so it was very fun seeing it make a return in my routine!
Despite resting the extra day, I could tell when the workout started, I wasn’t 100% recovered. I was in for an absolute doozy of a session. I hit the squats pretty much no problem. The last set was really hard, but that’s to be expected. The front squats were extremely challenging for me. I really struggled to hold that rack position. I played with a few different ways of holding it, but it was never quite right and my rack failed before the end of my set on my last set. I had to reset and start fresh. The hacks after this were just so insanely painful I’m not sure how I got through it other than sheer determination lol
Glad to have a rest day tomorrow!
Might try Zercher next time…
After a long day of babysitting, finally got to get my lift in and it felt amazing. I was hyped about some Fat Grip work getting programmed in. I really feel like I’m in the zone right now and truly killing this program. Couldn’t be more hyped for Odin Force with @TrainForPain next month! Ready to crush!
You seem to kill every program you try! I really think it’s your enthusiasm for training.
Every time I check in on your log,I forget about getting older, the challenge of having kids, work, how hard squats are, and get amped to get to the gym! Keep killing it, man!
Thanks man! I genuinely appreciate you saying that. When I write this log and when I train in general, I’m trying to keep the fire and excitement for Bodybuilding alive that I first felt when I got started when I was 12. The passion hasn’t died in me a bit. I just keep learning, experimenting and growing! I’m extremely thankful my wife supports my passion for this. It really makes things easy. Lifting is one of my favorite parts of life. It’s fun, challenging and the pump is always satisfying!
Got to train with my brother-in-law today and that’s always a fun time! Really punished him with the rear delt swing-Spider crawl Superset haha but it was a great time as always and a great time to exchange lifting ideas back and forth. I also now realize I forgot to write in my reps for my last Incline Set. It was 275x7, and I was oh-so-close to rep 8! Just couldn’t quite lock it out, so maybe technically 275x7.75, but it’ll go down as 7 reps for honesty’s sake.
Also did one all out set of close grip bench for 225x15 instead of 4x8. Brother-in-law and I were both exhausted so I wrapped it up with that movement and had a nice hard set to close things on.
Today was the last Pull workout before Odin Force! Creeping Death II has been an incredible program and has helped me retain all of my muscle and perhaps even gain some! My arms before the program measured 18” cold and I taped them yesterday morning at 18.25” Cold! My waist is down from 36” to 33” and my weight is down from 232 to 209! Bodyfat is finally back down, getting ever closer to the vaunted 10% area! This might’ve been 10% on the internet 10 years ago, but guys like Thibs are holding us to a higher standard these days lol! I’ve really gotten everything I could’ve hoped for out of this program, transforming my physique in 12 weeks and gaining strength on my lifts throughout the program!
And here are some updated physique photos. I’ll try to find some in similar poses from the peak of my bulk to compare them to, but I’ve never ever been this big while being this lean!
Incredible work, man. I’m pure envy over here. I can whine about being old, but I was never as big or strong as you.
I really appreciate the kind words sir! But let the record show that you are, in fact, JACKED!
what the actual fk! ?
Mate you are a straight up beast and you have years of this to come yet. Seriously well done. So many kids out there spinning their wheels getting know where but you are a shining example of what proper hard work and consistency can achieve. Salute
Thank you man, that’s really touching of you to say! I really do try to be a good example for others and a positive inspiration and I hope I’m able to get the message across of the magic that can happen when you just LOVE Training and getting after it and trying different programs. I think the results are just a side effect of passion and effort.
On an unfortunate side note to the log: I may have done some damage to my rotator cuff in jiu jitsu tonight. I have full range of motion, just some sharp pain with lateral arm movement like using a steering wheel. It’s so fresh, it’s hard to know the severity. I took an aspirin pill, which I pretty much never do, and am feeling better at the moment. Hopefully tomorrow I’m doing better and can perform the leg day without a hitch. I will likely open the session with some rotator cuff specific work.
Did it happen while framing? I hurt my right shoulder while defending quarter guard. It’s finally feeling better after a few weeks.
I was in Side control and my partner had a guillotine on me and tried to sweep me with it and it ended up just really cranking/hyperextending my shoulder and I didn’t do any more live rounds after that. It feels painful any time in Bent over and my arm is Front of me, or when my shoulder isn’t super stable like trying to sit up or move around at all while I’m laying down, or reaching across my body. I’m not sure if I should focus more on resting it or trying to rehab it.
