You don’t owe it to anybody to post your training stuff, my man. I just enjoy your input and your presence here, and I know others feel the same. Looking forward to the update, hope you’re well.

@flappinit @dagill2 thank you guys both so much for the support, I really do appreciate it!

This blast has been just as fruitful to me as my first one and I’m so happy with the progress I’ve been making! I’m in my 4th week and I’ve pretty much stayed steady at Volume Tier II Turbo version and I’ve only done one workout at volume tier III. My recovery just isn’t quite as fast as it was during my first blast. Most nights I get great sleep, and other nights I’m just going to bed too late. But I’d say I get a solid 8-10 hours of sleep 4-5 days a week and just 6-7 hours of sleep the other 2-3 days.

I’ve been eating even more than the previous blast so my weight has continued to rise but I’m just as lean and even a bit more vascular. I haven’t had any pre workout during this blast, so I haven’t had quite the same level of energy during the actual sessions which may have been something that did allow me to use a higher volume. I may try to do volume tier III for next week since I’ll be on vacation with my girlfriend’s family in Canada after that and will likely just be doing some Pump stuff with bands and will have ample time to recover before the next blast. I think I’ll buy a tub of whey isolate to take with me so I make sure I get enough protein on the car ride and during my stay.

Anyway here’s yesterday’s workout so you guys can catch a glimpse of how I’ve been progressing!

Lower Load/Upper Pump-Vol Tier II-Turbo

Squat 255x10
Leg Extension 235x13
Squat 255x8
Romanian Deadlift 265x10
Cable Adductors 100x10,5,3
Standing Machine Calf Raises 305x13,12,10,9
Flyes 65x23, 65x21
Rack Pull-ups 25x32,25x23
Lateral Raises 30x25
Crunches 115,50
Dumbbell Skiers 25x29
Db Curls 25x32
Overhead Dumbbell Tricep Ext 70x27

And quick physique update

Looking solid mate, absolutely awesome.

Is that a weird camera angle or are you like me, all torso, no legs?

I’m all torso with short legs haha definitely unconventional

Join the club mate. At 6 foot, I have the same length legs as my 5foot3 girlfriend.

Pretty much exact same story with me and my 5’3” girlfriend lol crazy you mention that

Back from vacation! I ate very well in Canada and got to work out almost every day with my wide range of resistance bands I brought. I followed John Meadows bands workouts on YouTube while I was there doing a “push, pull, leg” split. I was able to maintain all of my size, May have even gained a little. It was a great time! I read “The Brutality of Mountain Dog Training” by John Meadows and Scott Stevenson while I was out there and got to read more of “Be Your Own Bodybuilding Coach” by Scott Stevenson! Two tremendous books by the way! High recommendation from me!

Of course the biggest news is that I proposed to my girlfriend of almost 3 years at Niagara Falls and she said yes!! I’m officially engaged!!!

I made it back yesterday at 9:30 in the morning and went straight into work. Very brutal after after the 16.5 hour car ride! I slept for about 12 hours last night after work. But today I decided I needed to get back in the gym! I decided to a DC workout. DC is very much in line with how I love to train and I’ll be back to Fortitude for sure, as it’s been the best program I’ve ever done. But my first DC workout was definitely awesome!! Although I went a little too heavy on Dumbbell Overhead Press and had to lower the weight just to do the last two rest pause sets. The rest pause sets were a lot like Muscle Rounds and the stretches after every exercise were an easy transition as I’ve already been doing them in Fortitude. This was my first time doing reverse Grip Bench, not totally sure if I did it right because my weight was so low but I definitely hit failure on it! Also I forgot that t-bar Rows are supposed to just be a straight set and I did rest pause. Oh well, it was no problem.

Chest, Shoulders, Triceps, Back Thickness, Back Width

Decline Bench 245x9,5,3
Seated Overhead Dumbbell Press 60x7 50x5,2
Reverse Grip Bench 135x9,5,3
Rack Chin Ups 35x21,5,3
T-Bar Row 155x9,5,3

Great to hear Dave! Canada is nice indeed. Congratulations on the engagement!

Also, best of luck with your adventures in DC-training - Not too far from fortitude training it seems. I am certain you will make continued progress! After all, as Dr Darden once stated - as long as you BELIEVE the program will work - It does! But, raising the stake (intensity) requires good self-knowledge in terms of limit. Skills you already have, obviously!

As you may have understood from my posts in the Darden forum, I have finally started my journey in Fortitude Training (for the past three weeks)! It is such an enjoyment! Absolutely love the muscle rounds, loaded stretches and pumpsets! I can feel something is happening. Probably the perfect program for us anti-adaptationists. Have had a hard time holding back, since I’m accustomed training to failure! LOL Compensate by sticking to tier 1-2, so far. The luxury of choosing your free weight excercises on loading sets has been a mindgame, since I have gotten used to using machines lately. Thanks again for all your valuable advice! Looking back in your log for tips on excercises you have chosen previously.

Thank you so much!!! I’m very excited about beginning DC training as well. So far, feels very much like Fortitude! 2 workouts in and I’m loving it!

I’m so glad that you’re loving Fortitude and finding ways to make it work for you! It’s such an adaptable program, it feels like anyone could make it work for them!

Last nights workout was awesome. It was after my grandmothers funeral and I got 2 of my cousins and my brother to train with me which was so nice after such a hard day. Everybody handled it pretty well! One of my cousins struggled with actually going to failure and not just quitting when it got hard, but he did well!

DC Biceps, Forearms, Calves, Hamstrings, Thighs

Preacher Curls 115x10,4,2
Pinwheel Curls 45x9,4,2
Calf Raise 300x10(5 second negative,10 second hold at bottom)
Lying Leg Curl 135x12,4,2
Squats 275x4(too heavy), 185x20 widow maker

Got a fantastic workout in today with my brother. Woke up feeling extremely sore from Saturday’s workout and Sunday’s softball game. My only issue in the workout was attempting close Grip Bench with 225 pounds, which was a little too heavy for my first time doing it and it probably hindered how many reps I got during my true working sets. But I am absolutely loving DC training! I feel strong and jacked!

Chest, Shoulders, Triceps, Back Width, Back Thickness

Incline Bench 225x7,4,2
Military Press 115x8,2,2
Close Grip Bench 185x6,4,2
Close Grip Pulldown 210x9,6,3
Deadlifts 275x9, 245x12

Congrats on the proposal! Best thing I have ever done for sure.

DC stuff is pretty awesome. I’m liking it. I used to do Reverse Grip bench years ago and I’ve done them here more recently on the powertec lever machine. I feel it the most for sure in my triceps. It does take your shoulders out of it.

Thank you! Definitely the greatest moment and greatest day of my life!!!

I did really enjoy the close Grip Bench Press and I can’t wait to get strong on it, because it really feels great!!

My Biceps were billing me after the Curls today. The workout was awesome, but I don’t have much to say. Today was just another day in the office, progressing as usual. I did buy a car yesterday which I’m super excited about!

Biceps, Forearms, Calves, Hamstrings, and Quads

Barbell Curl 120x7,4,1
Hammer Curl 45x8,6,2
Toe Press “19”x11
Standing Cable Hamstring Curls 90x10,5,3
Hack Squat 425x4, 315x20

Yesterday’s workout was pretty diabolical. It was another situation where I didn’t get quite enough sleep the night before and ended up with a migraine by the time I got home. Thankfully I absolutely rocked it during this session, so I earned that rest.

Chest, Shoulders, triceps, Back width+thickness

Bench Press 245x7,4,2
Seated lateral Raises 20x15,7,5
EZ Curl Tricep Extension 115x8,4,2
Pulldown 210x10,3,2
Rack Deadlift 365x6, 315x12

Chopped down a tree and did a ton of tree cutting and maintenance for my grandpa Sunday with my brothers and I’ve just been crazy sore. Pressing the 25 pound ladder over my head all day to get it set up and then the subsequent climbing and chainsawing Sure took its toll on me! So I decided to take Monday off and I’ll be back in the gym Thursday for that Biceps, Forearms, and Legs session!

Here’s the aftermath of my lumberjack work

I’ve spent a few days tree cutting recently I know what you mean about being sore afterwards.

Are you getting similar results with DC compared to fortitude or is it too early to tell yet?
