Shit just got gay.

I’m guessing you’re the masked guy that comes from under the platform and takes out the judge before he gives the rack command.

This brings up a good point though. Which is the strongest gym in the country? My nomination would be BIG in Omaha, Nebraska. This is partly because I’m from Omaha, but there’s also a bunch of really strong guys there. There’s Shawn Frankl, Mike Cartinian, Aaron Wilson, etc.

Strongest gym would be interesting. One thing about BIG is almost all their guys are 242 and smaller. The other gyms are mostly guys 242 and up. The one common element is almost all the top multi-ply guys train at a powerlifting gym.

Yeah, I’ve been down a few times and there’s really noone who’s any bigger than 275, even among the guys who aren’t ‘big names’. Maybe the strongest “little guy” gym in the country? =) But yeah, it seems like it’s almost impossible to be one of the top guys in multi-ply unless you have a team to train with. There’s so many variables to deal with, from spotting to operating the monolift that you just can’t do it alone.

Don’t forget, BIG also has some strong female lifters as well.

I think it’s hard to make an apples to apples comparison. The best thing for the sport is to have a bunch of strong gyms all promoting themselves well…and as many startup gyms and teams as possible doing all they can to grow.

BIG is an awesome gym. I lifted at Al Caslow’s APF meet in February, and they had a lot of lifters there. Rick is an amazing coach. Seeing him coach his lifters at a meet was really cool.

You must have seen something that I didn’t, and that is Rick coach. All that I saw is his lifters bombing out, and him doing everything but coaching. My opinion of Rick as a coach changed a lot after that meet.

If anyone at BIG were taller than like 5’1", then I’m sure they’d have lifters over 242, hahahaha.

Haha yeah, everyone there is short. It’s awful. I’m 5’9" and I feel even skinnier than usual when I’m standing next to 5’3" 200 odd lb Cartinian.
