As you said, it varies on who you ask. I think big arms and traps on a woman is attractive. I think it makes a woman look extra capable and tough.

Packed weekend! We did some church activities, and then because the weather was so perfect, we fit two mini-hikes in. Kipper somehow escaped the pictures!
Upper Body Day
I was able to get a good mind-muscle connection and a great pump today, but strength was in the trash. This is luteal phase, so no surprise there. I’m also retaining a lot of water and eating a lot of food… par for the course.
My friend Wendy and I often joke about how much we eat. We’re both shocked that we’re not obese. Like, what sorcery is this? I should be 800 pounds by now.
A1. Cable Straight Arm Pulldown: 4 x 8-15 (ramp up in weight, ramp down in reps)
A2. Seated Cable Row: 4x10-12
B. Bench Press: 4x5
The first sets of bench didn’t feel great in the shoulders. I probably should’ve done some kind of warm-up drill first.
What do you do before bench pressing? Got any recommendations? I probably need a refresher on technique too.
C. Machine Lateral Raise: 3 x 15
This is where I started to lose steam, but isolation lifts seemed like an ok plan.
D. Bicep Curl: 3 x 10, 10, 4
On the last set I hit complete failure at just four reps using the weight that I can usually do for 8-10 reps. So I took that as a sign to just stop the workout.
Finito.
Love this perspective!! ![]()
WOOHOO! And thanks for dropping by!
It’s freaking awesome.
It’s definitely getting more popular. One woman started training with me specifically because she wants arms like my wife’s (I don’t train my wife, so the logic may be off but the thought is there).
THIS IS EXCITING. I hope muscular arms catch on!
And congrats to your lovely wife for having inspirational arms! ![]()
You always crack me up!!
what he said.
Muscular definition on women has always been particularly attractive to me (who knows, I could be the weird one here). Muscular arms and a well defined upper back is absolutely incredible (for example - female swimmers’ musculature is amazing). In fact, I would take that over the (in my opinion) overblown attention to growing ridiculous glutes these days (that don’t match the rest of their body/curves).
I honestly didn’t realize until recently people were actually getting butt implants
You don’t have to single me out like that bro.
Can’t a dude just get cheeked up in peace?
Where you want to bury your face is none of my business…
To each their own.
I love hearing this!
There’s been a trend online recently where the pendulum is swinging back to women being traditionally feminine, or “trad” as the cool kids call it these days. And among online trolls, being traditionally feminine and having visible muscle are mutually exclusive. You can’t do both. To them, only men should be muscular. It’s bizarre.
Totally agree! Swimmers have gorgeous physiques.
We are on the exact same page here. The glute obsession is so dang boring now. And ironically, mine didn’t really start growing until I stopped caring.
I’m a pretty firm believer in men and women being traditional (masculine and feminine (whoops), respectively). I also believe this is the best framework for a successful marriage.
But I don’t think that being muscular equates to being masculine. I think it means you are strong, capable, and driven to do more than the norm… none of which should be exclusively male traits.
In the scope of a relationship, I think a muscular woman can absolutely still be feminine, but wouldn’t that femininity be best reserved specifically for her husband/partner?
Disagree on the boring part, but I’m biased. Unrelated, do you think if I stop caring about my arm size that they’ll grow? ![]()
I completely agree. I’ve always considered myself relatively traditional even though I wasn’t blessed with kiddos, I have shorter hair, don’t wear dresses non-stop, have a job, grew some muscles, enjoy shooting guns, and married a husband who does nearly all of the cooking (not because I won’t, but because he loves it).
These are things the new generation of “trad” wives and husbands preach about. I came from a very traditional family, but even my happily married parents wouldn’t be able to uphold all their rules. And it makes me think the current trad trend is based mostly on stereotypes instead of values.
Whoa. This is something I’m going to need to think more deeply about. Hopefully I’m understanding you correctly, but I love this idea.
HA! Maybe! If I remember correctly, I’ve heard of muscles getting so much stimulation that it didn’t allow for sufficient recovery. Coach Thibaudeau would have the answers.

Good point. Maybe I’m using “troll” unfairly based upon my own biases though.
Nah. Anyone who makes up words I don’t understand (“trad?”) isn’t to be trusted!
I probably need to adopt this mindset. ![]()
