My German Shepherd was put to sleep two years ago due to illness. The next few days I noticed a few posts on Facebook saluting him. He probably has more than I will get. There is nothing better than a good dog.
Awwww… sounds like a lot of people saw what a sweet pup he was. Glad you got to have a companion like that in your life. ![]()
Haven’t watched the full video yet, but the first few mins reminds me a little of the Mother Teresa attributed poem:
I’m honored and humbled by this post.
Happy new year, Dani.
Well that’s lovelier than anything I could’ve written. Thanks for sharing it!
Thank you for helping me find my backbone and for being an encouraging voice.
Happy new year!
I LOVE this so much. So much.
Shoulder Injuries are Stupid
It might be impinged now. Turns out “working around” a shoulder by still training it but not hitting the rear delts, or using significant load can definitely still make things worse.
Don’t ever ask me for injury advice. I will hurt you.
Luckily I have a great chiropractor and my dry needling appointment with him is Tuesday.
All the experts say “don’t add heat to an injury” but I couldn’t resist last night. The left side of my neck and scapula tensed up hard and a heating pad felt delicious.
Meh, this type of thing has happened before so it’s not a big deal, just annoying. Especially considering that a lot of lower body work requires you to use your upper body. So no RDLs for now.
Today’s workout was a repeat of my last lower body day but in reverse:
Booty Blaster (or whatever the heck that thing is called): 4 x various amounts of concentrated reps, ascending load with descending reps on each set.
Leg Press: 4 x 12, higher rep + lower weight this time
Lying Leg Curl: 4 x 10 slow + controlled
Other Stuff
This has to be the best story of misunderstood words. Misunderstood music lyrics are pretty funny too.
Anyone feeling perfectly whelmed right now?
Roxy is this character. If we had to amputate all of her legs, she would still want to fight every dog in the neighborhood.
I’m glad you asked. Not because I’m having whelm calibration issues, but because these are the types of questions I ask too. I seldom get an answer though. Usually just a
.

My guess is most people live in a state of regular whelm and then dip into the over- or under- only when their expectations have been exceeded or unmet.
Seems like an indication of someone who’s both playful and thoughtful. ![]()
Yeah. Then there are the outliers that are in like, a terminal state of one or the other.
Very similar to being gruntled. Some folks are fully gruntled. Others mildly, but pleasantly gruntled. Then there are the completely disgruntled. Like, they’ve never even seen one.
You know, if I ever started a line of gummies (you know, gummies
) , I’d call them Gruntle Berries.
Okay how gruntled are you today? Maybe that’s what people should be asking instead of “how are you?” It’s just more interesting.
I feel an adequate amount of gruntle this morning.
So would your gummies help decrease the gruntle, and if so, would they make you disgruntled? Or would they increase the gruntle and make you…. also disgruntled?
Sometimes English prefixes don’t make sense.
I’m moderately gruntled. Not too much, not too little.
They would increase. They would contain theanine, caffeine, and various other gruntle enhancers.
Here’s the real secret though.
They’d be 5 lbs. a piece.
I’ve never been great with formal language structure. ![]()
Oh I might’ve accidentally had one today. I’m feeling feisty, which sounds a little better than gruntle.
I am often overwhelmed and underwhelmed at the same time. This is not the same feeling as being whelmed. Perhaps more like an omniwhelm.
I am rarely disgruntled, but am often undercaffeinated. Your product might help, but there are other convenient sources.
Nobody thinks bears and worms are similar until you mention gummy.
Dang those are all pretty brilliant points. ![]()

I feel like we are the same person. I have this exact same neck/scapula thing and I’m super awful. I put heat on it A LOT - because I am an overwhelming amount of gruntled about the whole situation. lol
I was getting super pissed off about Russian prefixes and prepositions…… then remembered I’m a native English speaker ![]()
Oh noooooooo! Maybe if I write about healthy and good things, they will happen for you too.
Starting now: I had the best sh-t this morning. And then it happened again right after the gym. Anyone averse to poop-talk won’t be returning to this log… haha log.
But back to the neck/scap thing: have you been able to find anyone to help? I’m gruntled for you!
There were some banded external rotation exercises that I used to do at my previous gym, but Crunch doesn’t have the bands that 24-Hour Fitness had. And those exercises actually made a pretty big difference. But injuries are so dang tricky because what works for one person may not address the exact same issue for another.
