Every supplement I looked at on Amazon contained the same amount.
Awesome, and I never would’ve guessed ADHD. Sometimes when I hear about the symptoms, it all resonates a little too much.
Yeah, I thought it would be expensive too, but in supplement form it’s not. As for serving size every brand seems to contain the same amount: 88.5 mg per pill. There are a ton of options on Amazon though so might want to shop around.
If you want to buy spices cheaply, find a South Asian grocery store. But if you want to buy cheap saffron, go to a Middle Eastern food store. It is a basic spice in Persian cooking.
These are double-protein deviled eggs. I left out the mayo and replaced it with a few heaping spoonfuls cottage cheese, then Dijon mustard, and a bunch of spices. Zero measuring. Flavor is awesome.
Today’s upper body workout was exactly what I needed this morning, and the infection seems to be gone. No residual headache anymore either.
Chris and I are heading out to watch some local stand up comedians tonight.
Here is my husband assessing me assessing my date night outfit.
I’m in the same boat, but where do you get one and how tf do you bring it home?
This will be my excuse for buying another truck that’s entirely too big for justification.
I’d order it online and get it shipped to your house. Even with a huge truck bed, that might be obnoxious to transport. But you would bypass a shipping fee.
Lots of places carry huge ones. If you or your wife wanted to go a bit bougie, check out Anthropologie (I’m sure she’s already aware— that mirror went viral in all algorithms geared toward women) but you can find them anywhere: West Elm, CB2, even IKEA.
What’s neat is that Amazon has some huge ones that are reasonably priced and look almost identical to what you can get at the higher end stores. The enormous one in my office is from Amazon and it’s pretty much the same as what I’d been eying from West Elm.
I’m getting good at avoiding lifting related discussions. Why? Because most people are already so certain of what works that there’s no real discussion; other points of view (even ones based on incredible results) get dismissed.
So in the words of Keanu Reeves, “You’re right. Have fun.”
Today’s Workout
Leg Press: 5 x 12, 8, 8, 8, 5
Ascending load, controlled eccentric, full ROM. Still getting used to the feel of this machine, but the slower that negative phase, the happier my knees feel.
Hip Thrust Machine: 4 x Failure
I used a staggered stance for the middle sets. For me it makes the glute max work harder, one side at a time.
Seated Leg Curl: 3 x 10
This machine is different than any I’ve used before, so ten reps fatigued the hammies adequately, but I was still tinkering with load and cadence on every set.
Finito. Upper body is still recovering from Saturday, so this was enough.
You’ll be great at it! What’s satisfying is that you get an immediate mind-muscle connection, so fewer reps (and often less weight) are needed to get the same degree of butt pain as a normal bilateral stance. The muscle contraction is intense.
And play around with the position of your feet because one foot slightly forward and one foot slightly backward actually won’t look too too different than a conventional stance.
Hey, I’m going to check out the policy for guest passes at our gym because I think you’d like the hip thrust machine when you come visit.
Chris and I were able to hit the gym yesterday. I was planning to make it an easy, throwaway workout but my soreness this morning is saying it was a little more productive than that.
There’s something special about switching gyms and using different equipment. Even if you’re doing similar exercises, just changing the brand of machines will have an impact.
Your joints start hurting in brand new ways!
Kidding… sort of. But you do get sore differently because your target muscles kinda get hit in new ways, and yeah if you overdo anything you can end up with a completely different set of joint irritations.
One thing I still need to figure out is cable work for the delts. For some reason the cable machines at this gym are set up in such a way that the load is too dang heavy even on the lowest setting. So I messed up my left shoulder girdle trying to do some cable rear delt flyes, which were a staple for me. The good news is, these cable machines are awesome for all back and arm work.
Abs/Core/Spinal Erectors
Machine OHP: pronated, then neutral grip
DB lateral raise
Cable curl
That was random but when everything is sore and tight, you improvise. And then I laid on the hydrotherapy bed for 15 minutes. If your gym has one of these, don’t skip it.
Then Chris and I got to serve at church for the Christmas Eve service. It was beautiful. I love these people so much.
Lol. No, I won’t. I am so quad dominant. I am terrible at all things glute related. I’m working on it though and thanks for the tips!
I am there! Based on everything you’ve said about your new gym, I think we may actually be members at the same chain… If that’s true, I know the machine and I like it too! (I might totally be wrong here, but tanning and hydrotherapy beds have me thinking I’m not… lol
Oh how funny, for some reason I hadn’t shared the chain on here, but it’s just a Crunch Fitness. And if you’re already a member, I’m seriously going to pee right here right now… in the kitchen. Hahaha
That would be just too wild to have yet another coincidence.
Love it. It took me a long time to even start the series because I couldn’t stand the idea of violence against a dog.
But it was so good. I think the fourth and final one might be my favorite… even though it was also sad. Yeah those two (the first and fourth) John Wick movies made me cry.
