Dani's Rebel Log

  1. Isn’t Boggle the only game using an hour glass? Your ashes also won’t get lost if you put them in a pop-o-matic bubble with dice. Or just one big hourglass that lasts all evening, suitable for games like Risk that take forever. (Guess my old examples show how often I play board games.)

  2. Did the German lip synchers get a raw deal? “Whatever you do, don’t put the blame on you. Blame it on the rain (that was falling). Blame it on the stars (that didn’t sing that night)…”.

Other Stuff

If you listen to podcasts or YouTube vids, give this one a try while you’re cleaning house or running errands:

This thumbnail is deceiving. It’s not an episode about anxiety, he covers a ton like respect, the “backwards law” idea, and how limiting yourself through commitment leads to more freedom.

The babies are here! This isn’t a great picture but I stood far away and zoomed in for this:

They all have little floofy mohawks and I got a video of Birdie feeding them.

But now I’m a little worried because I haven’t seen or heard their mom all day. So hopefully she’s just out hunting for more crickets.

Birdie came back!! I can’t stop obsessing over her babies. Sorry if you came here for something better. Just kidding, there is nothing better. Baby birds are SO CUTE!!!

You can spy on them through this living room window.

Chris and I are trying to figure out how to catch some crickets and worms for her.

Also, I may be misgendering the bird in this video. It could be Burt.

I care. I love hearing about how you get so jacked whilst having entertaining interactions with the over 70’s. I think I need to get out more.

Awwww well in that case I’ll need to be more social in the gym. Today I mostly only interacted with the hot bearded guy doing cable pull throughs behind me. He’s making my dinner right now.

I know the feeling.

He sounds dreamy.

No way that isn’t going to end well later

Imagine being both hot and bearded at the same time.

Tough Stuff

I know nothing about family law, but …

[EDIT: I deleted the details of this situation because I got my questions answered.]

It just seems like there’s heartbreak everywhere right now. This isn’t even the worst thing. Chris and I are doing our best to be helpful where we can, but it hardly seems like enough. Count your blessings.

On a lighter, more vapid note

Try to catch your dog mid-sneeze, mimic his face, and get someone to snap a picture at the exact same time. You won’t be disappointed.

The pics above are from 2019, but my hair is on a rotation of colors, and today Jose brought back this copper penny shade from five years ago. I do enjoy a big bold color to go with my stocky nine-foot-two frame. You’ll never lose me in a crowd.

Wait a minute. Does a hot man without a beard even exist?

I can’t really imagine myself being either of those things :smiling_face_with_tear:

Not where I am sitting. LOL

Let’s tag @Bauber too.

I’m sure he’s still lurking around somewhat.

Bauber is the only attorney on this board. I see he was tagged already. I’m at the age now where over half our couple friends are divorced and it’s always a mess. The financial hardship is usually the resistive barrier. Sounds like in this relationship especially so. Yes, she needs a lawyer if she’s serious and I hope she has friends and family to lean on because it could be awhile before she sees any appreciable money.

My memory isn’t what it was, thanks mate.

Well maybe not the only but the only one I know of.

You and me both!

She needs to hire one asap. Or at least consult with one.

There are a lot of things before a divorce or when divorce is being contemplated that should or should not be done.

Things vary state to state on things like spousal support / alimony depending on the situation.

Does she have minor children?

I don’t do divorce or family law, but I know a decent bit. Initially I thought I wanted to be a family law attorney, but after learning more - definitely not.

Thank you for confirming this. I absolutely agree. There are a couple tricky things at play regarding his job and military retirement that could leave her in a bind.

Just one. Smartest little girl I know.

I don’t blame you. This tore me apart, and I’m not even the one going through it.

To be honest, I know it’s a long shot but I’m still praying for their reconciliation. It would be much harder to upend their lives than to get a great counselor, heal, and try to move past it. My friend probably doesn’t agree though.

Then getting counsel immediately is even more important.

With children involved, it is not something she wants to do alone or haphazardly.
