Dan John 10000 Swings: 6 Workouts In

Just finished my 6th workout out of the 20. Today was the first day I could smash all 5 sets of 50 reps unbroken. It felt good and the 24kg bell is starting to feel lighter and my swing is getting more efficient. I started wearing gloves in workout 4. I’ve tried chalk with pull ups and now KBells and it makes no difference to my fingers they still rip to shreds.

The 50s are a good mental test. This programme is very zen! I’ve got 90’s r&b pumping out in the background and that BPM is ideal for swings IMO.

I’ve been taking magnesium citrate in the evenings to aid recovery.

Today I did workout 11. I’ve ditched the gloves as my hands have toughened up. Today I used a 28kg bell and the only broken set was the last 50 which went 30/20. My grip is 100 x stronger on this programme, abs are like concrete. Posture is better. There is carry over conditioning which has helped my swimming and biking.

Today was workout 15. The hardest thing on this program is the crushing boredom. Its a mental test can’t wait to finish, and it will be within 30 days.

Finished today. Ooosh!

Congratulations on finishing this program. I have looked at it in the past but have not attempted it yet.

I have lots of questions!

So, core strength, grip strength and postural benefits are pretty much what you have taken away from it? How did your cardio levels go?

Did you lift weights while on this program as per The 10,000 Swing Kettlebell Workout?
Or, how did you structure them… and how did the KBs effect your barbell strength?

Cheers!
