I did, I often made it clear to that I thought it was a horrible double standard and that it was not cool at all, and put out the “what-if” scenario if it had been a young girl with the men in the dept. gawking at her. I seemed to be the only one marginally upset by it.
point I was trying to make, is that there WOULD have been multiple terminations if it had been a female minor patient, no body would have had to “speak-up”, heads would have rolled that very night.

When I was working ED this happened a few times also. Debra you are forgetting that as a man working in a 90% female dominated profession do you really think Heavy or myself could have caused a issue with this. Yes it is a double standard, however job security for our own family takes precident. Yes I can be attacked for this, integrity etc, but bill collectors could give two shits about my integrity.

Another example…
I was taking care of a Patient who I knew indirectly, because his son knew my wife’s daughter, went to school with her. the kid is 16 years old and was coming to visit his father.
this is a good looking young man, 6’2" lean, dark complected (mexican), always well dressed, angular sharp facial features, broad shoulders, the kid I think models clothing for some of the local stores.
the female nurses were shameless, talking about this kid, and what they would do to him or let him do to them “if”.
did not matter how many times i told them that he was only 16, did not matter, and i AGAIN played the reverse scenario card on them, what if a sexy gorgeous 16 year old girl came into the department and all the male staff started talking about how bad they wanted to fuck her, etc. Imagine the reactions.
still, did not matter at all, “come on now, thats different” was the major response.
