Its by no means a lifetime PR or anything special compared to the squatters lurking on these forums but hitting a smooth 10x110 on squats after the recurring low back issues last year and early this year felt like a real win. I’ve taken the “start light, progress slowly” seriously this year and it is paying off.

Awesome work on that 110 x 10

That is some great squatting. Plenty of people in my gym would love to hit those numbers.

Well done

I appreciate the Standard you hold my log to!

@Deadliftnstill I think your log actually looks pretty well organized and easy to read! I certainly appreciate the handwritten log!

Bit of a catchup post

That is Krypteia done.
It has worked, but I am a bit burned out now, mostly due to sleep disturbances from the little one.
I did it though. 5 cycles of one program.
By “it worked”, I mean I’m leaner, stronger, and my conditioning is in best form.
I actually overdid it a bit with running I think too.
I’m pretty sure I’m going back to 1000% Awesome next, but will deload for the rest of this week.

Congrats! That’s great consistency and great commitment.

Excellent work. And I love your pen and paper workout journal!

My deload week turned into a do-nothing week. I cant recall the last time i did nothing for 5 days. Sleep was trashed by a teething kid and work was busy. Life gives you breaks :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I am set i will be doing 1000% Awesome with Power Cleans instead of deadlifts, so kicking that off this week.

KBell snatch test, easy version
Did 100 reps 24kg kbell snatch, alternating as needed.
Did that in approx 8 mins, so did a getup each side, bit rusty on them!

I am doing a bit of a brain dump here, not because I want sympathy, but more to give some insight to some of the pauses in posting etc. /life update.

I was born into a high control religious group. I am deliberately NOT naming them, and would appreciate if others didn’t try to guess as i guarantee these things get monitored. Happy to respond in DMs.

I have been careful with anonymity to date for this reason. They have been getting a bit of media attention of late, but I have also started really “reconstructing” my faith as I got more serious about it. Growing up in this group it is easy to just follow the rules and not be serious about your faith, which pretty much describes me in my teens and early 20’s.

Once you start to see the disconnect between the system you grew up in and what the Bible teaches, you can’t bury your head in the sand, especially with a young family that you want to raise better than you were.

I am seriously considering exiting, but it will come with shunning, etc., which makes it a very hard choice to do. Its not as simple as just “not going to church”. Every aspect of life, family, job, finances is all tangled up in it. Posting online is not exempt tbh. I am very grateful my wife and I are on the same page about this, as there’s a bit of a track record of dividing families over doctrine with this group.

As stated not looking for sympathy, but I actually can’t state this sort of thing to my current circle of friends, family etc. so guess I’m sticking it out there to my anonymous internet friends instead.

But to those who are of faith, and I know a few here are, do you have any comment or advice about finding a church group? I’ve never had to think about it before.

To those who are not, you’re not excluded from answering of course!

Nor have I. But I’ll offer whatever encouragement and support I can as an anonymous internet friend, because I truly admire your quest for Truth and putting your family first.
