Nearly all our peers and friends’ husbands have builds like that. [/quote]
That’s because all you have to do to get it is sit around and eat.

I seriously would rather be fat and permabulked with some muscle than have the dad bod.

I thought this was the body the OP was describing until I clicked the links and googled it. Some extra fat, but plenty of muscle. That’s kind of how I’ve been the last few years (interestingly enough it coincided with dad-hood). I don’t mind carrying around 10-15 extra pounds of fat as long as my strength is still there.
Call it what you want, but I don’t have the desire or dedication to stay lean these days.
Wahlberg’s what I thought was being described. Guys not exactly lean but has enough underlying muscle that he still has good definition.
This skinny-fat dad bod is being praised by the same people attacking protein world right now.
A lot of girls seem to prefer the Seth Rogan type body composition.
The fox and the grapes
I bet you that was considered a good build a hundred or more years ago when there was less garbage food available and lifting wasn’t mainstream. But, honestly, Id rather be overweight and strong than a narrow shouldered skinny guy who was “cut”. I remember when I was real thin (eating about 2000 calories a day), I got a lot of attention from women but had no confidence in myself if I got into a fight. I was still 185lbs and 5’9", but not that strong.
On the flip side, I took some meds that shot my weight up 60lbs, looked like real shit, but managed to lose some of it through intense strength training. Still need to lose 20lbs to feel comfortable about my weight, 30 if I wanted to be really lean. It is kind of cool to sit on a bus or walk into a room and know I might be the strongest person in the group. Now to feel more comfortable taking off my shirt haha…

Lol!
Me and my wife had this discussion the other day,
I am 5’-4" and weight 205, I don’t have a visible 6 pack unless I flex like I am trying to drop a duece, and if I hold it too long I pass out, but that’s another story.
i am built fairly well braod shoulders XXL shirts, decent arms, huge legs, small waist, 32 in Levis, have to wear a 33 becasue I can’t get 32’s over my ass/legs.
My wife says she’s not into the dad bod, she want’s a guy, with meat on his bones. She doesn’t care for the scrawny, 6 pack super lean guys either, she said flat out, " I want a real man with muscle, not a scrawny ass kid that’s looks like he’s barely hitting puberty".
Either she really loves me, or he’s blowing smoke up my ass.

Maybe a little bit of both?
Think about it, if she gained 20lbs in the next 8 weeks, would you still love her? Yes. Would your dick still get hard when it came time for sexytime? Likely.
So really, as long as you do it for her, prefect and preferred body type or not, it doesn’t really matter.
…so this “Dadbod” trend boils down to girls not being comfortable with their own imperfections so they favor guys who are not perfect. Its shit like this that grows my secret dislike of women. Guys generally seek sex because they enjoy it, women to valid their self-worth.
Being a Cadillac of men myself, I thought or hoped the dadbod was going to the classic burly guy, actual arms and a gut–I keep hoping this trend comes in because I fit the bill to a tee. I think women, like men, have a wide variety of “likes,” from “toned” to “ripped” to “roided up freakzilla” to “fat.” There is a key for every lock as they say.

I like this body I think, but maybe I just like the person that goes with it, so who knows what I actually like.
It would also have to come with the arc reactor or it would just be boring
OH! I also think I like 2Pac’s body
And maybe even new Dr. Dre ALA I need a doctor
Ok wait, I’m confused.
Is a dad bod where you kinda look like a strongman?
Or is it when you have the skinny fat bad?
Actually ya after thinking about it for the past 2 minutes ive decided new Dr Dre is my ideal man body type. Very huggable.
Cuddable
Yet dirty-esq fuckable
But also manly like he could build me a shed and maybe do some BBq-ing
but kind like he wouldn’t yell at me for stuff

Neither. Think former gym-goer plus 20 lbs.

“You gonna take advice from somebody who slapped Dee Barnes?!”

There’s no way not to sound like a dick saying this, but a 32-33 inch waist at 5’4" is not “small” in any sense of the word. That’s like an average waist on a 5’10 dude.

Wrong. He said he has broad shoulders and weighs over 205. It’a all relative.
