50 in a row was hard for me grip but got through it in rest pause style.
By the end of round 2 I was taking the full 6 minute break time between rounds.
Round 3 and 4 felt okay but definitely started getting tired.
You can tell here in round 5 my form is getting kind of sloppy and I am fairly fatigued. It was tough for me just to push to the end and complete all 500 reps.
Biggest issue was my grip on the competition style KB I have. It’s hard for me to get both my big hands inside the handle straight so I wasn’t gripping with all fingers. Forearms are toast after this one. Complete the workout in just over 49 minutes.
Average HR of 153 bpm (including rest periods).
This workout was definitely more intense than I usually perform at.
I feel you here, brother! I have the same issue on my KBs, and I don’t even have big hands.
It’s nice to see you undertake this challenge. I’m one week into my adapted version of it, and it’s been one of the most refreshing things I’ve done in the weight room lately—not easy, but just a solid change of pace. I think it’s done wonders for my overall recovery, too.
Workout 3 of the kettlebell challenge today.
Filmed rounds 1 and 5 below.
First round is moving a lot better now. Pushed the rest down so gassed by the 5th round.
Sloppy pull-ups on my hangboard, but not too bad for a 285lb man I think.
Grip getting a little better. It’s amazing how fast the body adapts when pushed.
I have noticed i wake up hungry in the middle of the night lately craving carbs. This could be because my nightly insulin dose is too strong now (as I watch my diet better).
Probably need to start tracking my BG levels closer now.
I have found I have to intentionally focus on the explosive part of the swing or I overcompensate with my arms. Noticed I was doing that during Round 2 and was pulling against the bell arc slowing the momentum and making the next swing tougher.

Your “Figure 2” from the post on Pwn’s thread was interesting. It essentially posited that there an average figure for heartbeats in mammals.
I need to go dig up more studies now.
