CYC 1025kg Total 410kg squat

This kid has way way too strong legs. The squat is insane, but if you look at the deadlift it’s all legs.

well, Pat’s best lifts are a 350kg Squat and a 230kg Bench, I don’t know what his best deadlift is. (that is on YT, he may be capable of more or have done more since) so for now it’s safe to say he blows Pat out of the water

that being said, Pat doesn’t compete for powerlifting, we only really care what he can snatch and clean & jerk, and so far it’s looking like he can make it to the Olympics, which is all that matters.

but the only real way to compare thir lifts though is to have them pull off a Magnusson vs. Bolton type show down for title of strongest teenager =D

Well you can’t really compare who is stronger at all to be fair. You can quote pat’s squat and bench numbers but he only benches every 6 months and that’s just for fun. And his squats are there to help his olympic lifting, he doesn’t squat in such a way to try and maximise the weight he can squat.

Pat is brutally strong. This guy is brutally strong. There are no comparisons to be made.

that’s why I said we only really care what he snatches and clean&jerks

Yeah I know, it’s more the pull off thing. There is no way to compare their strength so there could be no such fair competition.

As well Pat has NO powerlifting gear, no belt, no knee wraps or anything…As well he uses high bar which is different than low bar and ultimately one can squat more using the low bar method…pat’s hams touch his calves…lots of differences. As well Pat benched an EASY 506 with no gear as well…without trainnig the bench…his coach says with a little bit of training and some technique fixing he could easily hit 550.

What I’m trying to say is that I do think Pat is the stronger athlete.

There is another thread somewhere about whose physique would you like to emulate. I’ll take this kid’s. Awesome legs…no homo

If I had to guess I would probably say Pat, at the moment at least. I don’t want to guess though, too hard to compare. Have we even seen what CYC really can do? His coaches are being so careful with him.

Both kids are amazing though. I recently heard that CYC placed 5th or 6th in Norway’s Strongest Man when he was 17, how awesome is that?

It definately is pretty awesome but seeing the circumstances of how Pat trains and well just his strength on the bench press without directly training the bench press! Training high bar full deep oly squats, no belt, no wraps, no gear. He does deadlift here n there…I think Broz says 2x a year only to determine strength…and well the power Pat possess in the olympic lifts is incredible seeing as he hasn’t been doing the lifts altogether that long…maybe a couple years maximum

Oh believe me, I’m very fascinated by Pat and his training, that’s why I’d guess he’s the strongest at the moment if I had to guess. Just saying I don’t think we know enough to make any good guesses yet.

Btw, the fact that Pat can bench so much with that crappy form is incredibly impressive.

I don’t understand all the hype. My next complaint is more towards the general state of powerlifting: he is another superheavyweight champion (well, almost) who could maybe barely deadlift over 300 kg without equipment. That’s sad isn’t it?

Its no good trying to compare CYC and Pat. They train for two different strength sports.

And;

CYC is drug tested frequently, Pat is not.

CYC does however outweigh Pat by over 30kgs.

CYC has got several world records(IPF), Pat has none… but then again setting world records in weightlifting is probably a lot harder than in powerlifting.

Whats sad about a drug-free 20 year old who deadlifts and squats over 300kgs raw?

Joking, right?

Nothing, if it were some nobody. But he’s the champ. And like I said, it’s not his fault. Powerlifting is just complete shit now.

340kg ~ 750 lbs.

Yeah, it’s deplorable. It’s such a weak lift. omg

It’s a single ply deadlift suit, how much do you think he gets out of it? I would be very surprised if he can’t pull well over 300kg raw.

It doesn’t matter if CYC has some records…I know the Broz crew is doing a PL meet for fun and they are going to demolish the competion. You have to realize he is equipped…it is different lifting in a suit knee wraps etc and a belt…than it is to do that same weight raw. As well pointed out earlier he outweighs Pat by quite a bit…drug tested or not…what makes you think Pat is on drugs he trains 2x a day 14x a week, doesn’t do anything AT ALL other than weightlifting, that is his life…he could VERY WELL be drug free, has nutritionists and everything. Okay so I’m saying CYC definately is awesome, but Pat is overall much more impressive in all his feats.

If you think a ~ 300 kg raw deadlift is an awesome lift for a superheavyweight elite lifter you must live on a Jupiter or something…

Wrah, you make no sense at all.

you talk about “hype” for a 20 years old making a over 2000 total … You must be one strong of a men if it’s not impressive for you. Or one big jealous frustrated motherfucker.
