What “Fed” are you lifting in ?
Looking good in here Tony, you doing virtual meet again?

No fed. This is unsanctioned. Basically like a garage competition only international and on the web. Send the vids in to the judges and they say whether you did it right or not. Vids are posted later and the rankings are updated on the website. Prior to that I lifted in the APA a couple of times. Will probably do so again because I want a total in a recognized federation.
Looks like it might SPF for the next one though.

Down boy… Keep it close and get the goods when the new job is assured. Not that it is any of my business.

Interesting. Who are these “judges?” Your numbers look good for your virtual meet. Are you competing against others in a master’s division?
Souns like you’re going to have a really good total on this one Tony.

In the virtual meet there are no age classifications. There are age and weight equalizing coefficients applied to the lifts to arrive at a non-dimensional rating - a la Wilks. Each man competes against every man irrespective of weight or age. Men do not compete against women.
The judges are lifters who volunteer and know the rules of the lifts. A lift can be turned down for something as simple as the judges not being able to see your feet in the video.
I didn’t realize that wilks took age into account. Although I love it for its equalizing value in considering the strength-to-weight ratio.
Very interesting. Please link to the meet when it’s available.

I don’t think Wilks does. That particular formula only creates a number that lets you compare the lifts of lifters in different weight classes. virtualmeet.net has their own which they’ve figgered up.
You have a pretty good chance of breaking a handful of SPF records in your age/weight group. SPF also has a curl event which surrpised me.

I did notice that the SPF had no records at all for the 181 and 198 masters (40-49) class. There’s a meet in November in Sacramento I’m considering.

That’s my situation for the USAPL in Texas. Since my name will go on the record boards as long as I don’t screw up, I want to make it a good showing.
I’m sure you’ll do famously in what ever event you enter.
^^^ Just one of the benefits of being a master’s lifter.

I know the feeling. Tax return came in, restrained myself, but barely.
Well you go ahead and set those national records and I’ll be behind you trying to break them.

Catching up with you Tony… Great work. I’m excited to see your vids for the meet. Damn fine training as usual.
