I’ve noticed that squatting is uncomfortable/weird feeling until I hit 250+. It’s almost as if the weight is not enough to force my body into the right groove until it’s that heavy. All my warmups and first work set just felt bugger, but 255 and 289 felt tight. Anybody else get this?
Playing with my Rolling Thunder and new loading pins.
Did some max lifts which were pathetic
115x3
Still - that’s 10 lbs more than I could do before and with doing no grip work at all. It’s a good starting point.
and some curls
45x2
which were also pathetic. I have tiny little hands and that mean old Rolling Thunder is mocking me.
I’m going to see if I can get up to 185 per hand. That used to be the starting point of strong, but ever since the Gillinghams and Mr. Felix starting mucking with it, the standard for strong has been raised to 235.
Bastards.
Better get to work on my visualizations, I guess - the one where I weigh 230, have no wrinkles and a big…
Okay - there’s a LiveSpill thingie in your hub (upper right corner). So far I’m using it for my little frenetic rants and homespun aphorisms cuz I really get off on the echoes of my own voice in an empty room. But what is it for really?
i thot it was some bookmarking/social networking thing. it probably pipes right to the head of Homeland Security, so they can keep an eye on you easier

I get this feeling a lot, especialliy when I am feeling stiff and achy walking into the gym. Sometimes I don’t feel right until my top set. I have played around with warmups and found that, for me, if I do my first set with the bar almost in slow motion and as deep as I can go–I am talking really, really slow and low–it helps get me into the groove a little quicker.

Still a bit down from squats. Didn’t do what I said I would and stick to the prescribed reps there so I’m paying for it today. I needed 9 reps for a PR. Good solid set though.

You are warming up right ? If not try this.
walk up and down your stairs a couple of times- taking 2 stairs at a time.
stretch your hips out
do some quick very high jumps and sink into the hole like 3 sets of 3.
