Curcumin Inhibits Blood Vessel Formation?

So I’m sure everyone knows the benefits of curcumin supplementation by now. You may not know, however, that curcumin has been shown to inhibit angiogenesis or blood vessel formation by downregulating various proangiogenic proteins like vascular endothelial growth factor and basic fibroblast growth factor. The study’s only talk about how this effects cancer growth but could these effects be detrimental to hypertrophy and strength?
Based on these findings I would assume this is a supp we should avoid in our quest to get big and strong. Give this title a search on Bing or Google “curcumin anti-angiogenic”. Read the study’s and let me know what you think.

I had a look at some articles, your probably right in the case it inhibits certain processes that are good for muscle gain, I highly doubt it will do it to such an extent that you stop getting gains.

ive read about a vegan who fasts for about 16 hours a day and only eats one meal of 1000 calories and looks like he came out the hyperbolic time chamber (Dr. Nun Amen Ra)

supplementation in itself shouldn’t really have to ability to inhibit something to such an extent that it halts any normal genetic process, unless its a hormone/steroid.

I take two turmeric tablets every morning and its only going to do me good in my opinion…hope this helps

Honestly I’d be more concerned if you are even absorbing the curcumin. Look into this:

Granted, there are a lot more questions that need to be answered in how this miniperspective came to the conclusion of “The likely false activity of curcumin in vitro and in vivo has resulted in >120 clinical trials of curcuminoids against several diseases. No double-blinded, placebo controlled clinical trial of curcumin has been successful.” - still an interesting perspective.

And wow this is an old thread lol
