Cube Predator Bench Log

I am currently six weeks away from a powerlifting meet (Southern California Classic at Metroflex), and am going to run the Cube Predator to peak into my meet. Since Brandon Lilly just released the program fairly recently, I thought people would enjoy reading a log to see how it works.

I’ve been prepping for this meet for six weeks already, basing my training off of Prilepin’s chart. The last block of training I did included (sets/reps) 4x4 at 275, 4x3 at 285, and 4x2 at 300. My meet PR on bench is 315 and I’m shooting for 335 this meet.

Today’s workout

Bench
135 x 8
165 x 8
205 x 5
245 x 3 x 5 sets (70%)
205 x 10, 7 (60%)

Close Grip
225 x 5, 5, 5 (70%)

Incline DB
60 x 12
70 x 10
85 x 8
100 x 5

EZ Skullcrushers
75 x 12
85 x 10
95 x 8
105 x 8

DB Shoulder Press / Seated Row (done as superset)
50 x 12 / #9 x 12
50 x 10 / #9 x 12
40 x 12 / #8 x 12
40 x 10 / #8 x 12

As you can see I changed a few things around. I did 4 sets instead of 5 on skullcrushers, I did db shoulder press instead of arnold press, I did seated row instead of barbell row, and I supersetted the last two exercises. I don’t believe that any of these changes will make a significant difference though, and that the effectiveness of the program should still be the same.
