I refuse to believe it!
If anyone is curious as to what killed Steve Irwin:
Here’s a pic:

Look at the tail on that thing. That’s a big fucking fish. That thing (tail) going through a dude’s chest? Yeah, I figure it’ll kill you pretty damn quick.
R.I.P. Steve Irwin, you’ll be sorely missed.
The guy was definitely passionate about wildlife, at first he was fun to watch, but was getting kind of old as of late. I was watching the interview with Matt Lauer, and he was being ridiculed for putting his infant child in such close proximity to the crocodile, he of course was trying to prove a point that animals, such as the crocodile, are much safer than automobiles for instance, because his mother was killed in an automobile accident, so he has a problem with people and their driving habits, and now, being killed by a Stingray ( Corvette), whoda thunk it.
The tragity is his children are now without a father.
I remember watching the show when Bindi was born. He was glowing.
A truely sad day.
Very sad, the guy was a crazy bastard with those wild as hell animals. I was always in amazement with what he did. His poor wife & kids. I’m sure he had some great insurance, couple million I’m sure. He was raking in the dough.
RIP crazy croc bastard!
He was a real man who died doing the dangerous shit he loved.
i just heard about it now, read y’all posts - i was gutted, really gutted but didnt know why, his show was never really appointment tv for me, but yeah i can se i’m not the only one (obviously):he’s our kind of t-man
R.I.P. Steve.
No offense… but is anyone seriously shocked about this?? 90% of the news I heard about him I expected to be about his demise. I mean, c’mon. Look at what he did for a living. It was literally only a matter of time.
Not saying that it isn’t sad / sucky. But really no one should be surprised about this. Altho, out of all the ways he could of gone, I woulda thought it woulda been something much more serious / gruesome.

Fuck the shock, we’re just paying condolances as we are sorry to see him go, that’s all.
So, if he had benched more, would the extra padding have cushioned his heart from the fatal blow?
Maybe I am just an asshole, but when you play with wild animals, your bound to get hurt.

You could say the same thing about a lot of people. Look at those serving in the military on the front lines. They willingly put themselves in extreme danger, and when the worst happens it still hits you in the gut.
I’m not drawing a direct link betweem serving your country and playing with wild animals, but just noting that no matter how good the odds of something bad happening are, it’s still sobering when it does.
I loved to observe my young nephew’s watch his show. There eyes glued to the television screen. They were truly frozen in the moment. I think he most definitely touched his younger audience.
RIP
It was only a matter of time. The only tragic thing here is that he continued to play with death after becoming a father.

That’s too bad. He died for the same reason as the dodo bird though. Fear exists for a reason.
I wonder how long until the video ends up on the net.[/quote]
Well said. Fuck him. What asshole hangs around wild animals? Let’s pick up a dangerous snake with my bare hands. If I get bit then I’m a douche who should die becasue I’ve proven to nature that I’m too fucking stupid to respect animals that can kill me.
I’d like to say that this is a horrible tradegy as well… especially on my brothers behalf; ‘The Crocodile Hunter’ was his favorite tv show and my brother is an animal lover as well.
This is just another shitty day in life when one of our heroes dies. Supermick said it best… “he was a mans man”. Another said “he was a true T-Man”… definitely!
Steve was a great man, a legend, an ambassador, and a great showman. Steve was larger than life. I hope his wife and 2 children will be O.K. I know it would crush me to lose Steve if he was in my family. Can’t say much for my own piece of shit dad… other than I wish Steve would have been my father.
Every Australian should be deeply saddened by this loss, if not us Americans will surely be. I can only think of how bad my brother is going to be upset. I have to make a phone call… God be with Steve now.

I know this is an internet forum… but lets just say if I ever heard you say that kinda shit in front of me, you would have a mouth full of teeth in about half a second. You are one ignorant fuck. Somebody just died and you have nothing better to say than “Fuck him”. You are the kinda guy that is hated even by his own family.
You have no respect… get the hell off of this thread before God strikes you dead. I’m afraid you have just put some bad karma on your life. Good luck buddy… I wouldn’t want to walk around in your ignorant shoes.
the truth of the matter is only 17 people have been killed by stingrays in the last hundred years. Their venom isnt even lethal. However in mr.irwins case the barb punctured his chest near his heart and killed him instantly. Poor fella, what a way to go.

I agree. Yeah, he was pretty crazy, but he was a smart guy. This was a freak accident… if you’ve actually seen a lot of his shows, you have to admit that he really knows his stuff as far as handling things relatively safely. This is comparable to Ronnie Coleman dropping a weight on his head and the untrained population scoffing at him because of the risks he was taking lifting heavy weights.
From what I understand, Steve lived a very modest life and put a lot of his money into saving animals. I had the chance to go to the Australian Zoo a couple years ago, and I saw him in a backhoe doing work.
He had a sense of humor and for that reason I don’t think a lot of people took him seriously. Behind that, he gave more back than I ever would.
I always secretly wanted him to get his ass bit by a croc but never wanted to see him die because of his job.
