these are a few more clips from my first day of pendley’s beginner program if anyone’s interested. Snatches still feeling shaking but im very confident with my cleans (need a bit more speed but i’m comfortable). you guys think some overhead squat work could get me into a better snatch bottom position (i feel that’s where i’m making my mistakes)
Your snatch bottom position could use some work. A big issue is your torso angle. You need to be more upright, so work on your ankle mobility. Every day. Be obsessive about it. But the snatches look quite a bit better. However, the bar on your cleans and clean pulls is shooting out away from you. That’s why you’re jumping forward. The bar looks good off the floor and up into your hips, but then it shoots out away from you. Try wearing a little bit baggier of a shirt, and when you do pulls, the shirt should come up a bit, especially on the snatch.
Some snatch balances (or snatch drops) can’t hurt, along with some snatch grip presses and snatch grip sots presses just to get you stronger and more comfortable in the overhead position.

I see I’ll focus less on the pulling back in cleans which i think is causing the shooting forward.
I definitely know what your saying with the torso angle currently working with this drill (minus the band I just hold onto a stable object) and i feel my mobility is getting a bit better
Hey man, mobility work is one of the most boring things to do. So find a technique that doesn’t make you hate life and do it all the freakin time.
Focus on 1 or 2 things at a time. Start with first pull in snatch and clean ie shoulders over more, bar close throughout entire pull (do not deliberately bounce the bar away, ever); on jerk, get your back leg bent. Do lots of volume with perfect form and very light weights, try to get someone knowledgeable to keep an eye and feedback. Look at schmitz, waxman, everett, takano, greenwood, for sound advice on technique and most things.
