I think I’m probably misremembering the template. I remember one that went something like:
Jumps/throws
Main Lift
Widowmaker supplemental
Assistance/Walrus circuit

Just checking as I’m thinking of doing the same in my next run through. Do you do, for example:
Ohp 531, clean once per set on your 3 main work sets
Ohp fsl 5x5, clean every rep
Also, I’ve seen Pavel mention dropping the bar for deads and a lot of strong Oly lifters do it. I’ve wondered if it’s worth the clang. I’m after better recovery so I can get on with other sports whilst still keeping the strength training going.
I don’t have a set way to do it. If it’s light, I’ll clean each rep. If it’s heavy, I’ll clean just the first.
I personally got MUCH bigger and stronger when I controlled the eccentric on the deadlift and did touch and go. That’s also the style employed by the creator of 5/3/1
Cheers for the reply, I do take heed of your advice. The video is the way I’ve been doing deads as I’ve followed 531 since I ran out SS, just wondered if I could leave more in the tank for other things. But nothing is free.
On the cleans, I’ll give it a go, I guess it doesn’t matter much but puts a bit more work into a shorter workout.
I always forget how much of a monster Jim is. Just casually TnG lifts 600.
A far better 3 day pw approach that follows elements of 531 and has the complexes you seek is DeFranco’s built like a badass. Look it up.
