Ahhhhh I read it as “1/2 chicken breast,” “1/2 pork chop.” Not 8oz…looks better now.
haha why does everyone think I’m eating half portions of meat?
Probably because you wrote “1/2 pork chop”.
Where?
lol. I just read it over again and you’re right, you did write 1/2lb, which my dyslexic brain turned into 1/2 pork chop, which could also be accurate depending on who’s pork chop we’re talking about.
Just a little bump to say I weighed in at 189 today (so 12lbs in 5 weeks) on this diet so far. I’ve noticed some bodyfat increase but not very much.

The 1st time most natties get to the “magical 200lbs”, they’re inevitably softer than they’d like to be.
Usually, the way it goes is a soft target weight, trim down, reach the old target weight a lot leaner than before. Then set a new target weight.
I would have said that over 2lbs/week is a little on the high side, but you look pretty lean in your avatar, and if you added that weight from THAT starting point then it give’s you more room for “error”.
I’d advise around 1lbs/week is a better target from now on though. A lot more than that is likely giving you much more fat gains than necessary.
Not trying to give you a fear of fat gains; just a bit of realism. For example, if you gained 2lbs/week every week, that would be 100lbs+ in a year (and nobody gains that much muscle lol). Even with 1lbs/week, that’s on the high side if you gained that EVERY week (when averaged it’s more likely to be 1lbs every 2-3 weeks or so). You’ll get gains in spurts (e.g. 1-2 months of consistent gains) - so some periods will be “dry”, and others not.

My avatar was actually taken 6lbs into the weight gain. I know i was putting it on a bit fast. I’m actually planning on hitting 200 then recomping for a while to try and lean up while staying at that weight/gain a little. So I only have like 10lbs more to gain (at least right away).
