Crimes Against Nutrition

I had to talk myself out of cookies earlier tonight.

Thanks, Satan.

Sorry. I have been wanting chocolate chip cookies for 3 weeks. I looked at chocolate chips at our local store- $7.99/11.5oz bag. No thank you. Got a 32oz bag for $10.98 at HEB today

I like the crisco ultimate chocolate chip cookie recipe better than toll house. I use a stick of butter and a 1/4 c crisco to make the 3/4 c.
I have tried coconut oil but thought it made the cookies greasy.

I have a recipe for brown butter cookies I want to try.

I like the toll house, but add a box of vanilla pudding mix and bake them for 9 minutes. They are amazing.

I have never tried pudding mix in cookies but have several cake recipes that use it so, it makes sense. Thanks!

I have been wanting chicken livers. Chicken Express was all out the other night. So picked some up at the store yesterday. Cooked them with bacon and onions. Thought to myself, I should have a vegatable with this, then ask myself, what would @T3hPwnisher do? So…

Jed even tried one! I am so proud of him for trying more new things. In all fairness I told him these are usually better when somebody else (besides me) cooks them. I love to eat them but don’t cook them very well.

Kudos to Jed for trying a liver! They’re a nutritional powerhouse. And you had onions in there: that gets to count as your veggie!

Oh @ChickenLittle. That 100% counts as a plateful of crime in my book.

What did Jed SAY when he tried one? That’s what inquiring minds want to know.

I feel like getting him to try THAT is a huge victory.

I just wanna note, for true “crimes against humanity”, I wanna see this list with some REAL unconventional fat sources. Lard, tallow, duckfat, suet, etc. “Do these cookies taste like duck to you?”

He exact words were, “Not Tooo bad”. Which is a pretty good rating for Jed. That means I wouldn’t want it all the time but I could choke some down if you want.

I thought so!

I but they would be just fine with some good leaf lard.

Livers are awesome - but better with bacon, onions and gravy. Gravy also goes well with mashed potatoes and mix-ins. But air fried shallots and/or peppers and/or carrots would work great if you add butter salt before serving.

As an über-nutritious food, even adding bacon, onions, gravy and butter to liver would probably not make it “a crime against nutrition” unless you go wild. In which case Chianti might help.

A Canadian grocer is known for their cheap chocolate chips made with 100% butter… They go do down like quack quocaine…

This observation is usually used to explain why Tim Horton’s coffee sells so well. Because it can’t be the coffee… (I actually like it though).

@ChickenLittle I feel like this is something you would like.

River Boat Squares

1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup melted butter
1 egg
1/2 cup chopped pecans
8 oz. Cream cheese
1 lb powdered sugar
2 eggs

Blend cake mix, melted butter, 1 egg and nuts. Mix and press into 9 x 13 pan. Beat cream cheese with sugar and 2 eggs. Pour over cake. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes. Should be light brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

I’m pretty sure it’s what heaven tastes like.
