Yell “Shucks!” every time you miss for bonus psychological damage.
I laughed at this way harder than I should have. ![]()

Depending on your tastes, these COULD be crimes against nutrition, but check this out.
THIS is a “St Louis Slinger”, with attached origin story
And THIS is a “Loco Moco”
And an explanation
So, it’s a hamburger steak with a fried egg on top, served over a starch, smothered in a beefy sauce with onions.
Both made within a few years of each other, in completely geographically separate locations.
This is like how calculus was independently created by 2 different people at the same time.
Yep. Critical opalescence. Like in that one book about Einstein & Ponicaire.
Both look good but…
I’m going with the St. Louis Slinger. Hashbrowns are always better than rice for me, and it has chili. How could it be bad?
Ah, I wasn’t thinking of it as a versus thing. I’ve had many loco mocos, but this is the first I’ve heard of the St Louis Slinger, which is what prompted this. I read it and was like “Holy crap, it’s a mainland loco moco!”
…although I skip the rice, haha. L&L used to have something called a “Super Atkins Plate”, where they’d sub scrambled eggs for rice. Which got a little redundant with the fried egg, but that never bothered me.
Well, I wasn’t really thinking vs, just which one I would try first… lol because let’s be honest, I’m basically a human garbage disposal.
Now, I’m thinking, I have some chili in the freezer ![]()
Just using my fresh corn for good and not evil.
The salad may be able to kill somebody though. Broccoli stalks, carrot, red and savoy cabbage, leaf lettuce, green onion?(I didn’t taste any. Nothing about it had that much flavor
) It was given to me, glad I didn’t buy it. ![]()
I have been waiting for hours. Lunchroom Lady Brownies. Good texture, nice and chocolatey, but damn are they sweet! My instincts were to cut part of the sugar but when I try a new recipe I do it by the book. Next time I will cut part of the sugar. I had to scrape the icing off my piece.
It is time. Lazarus is ready. @SkyzykS no pancakes but how about some sourdough discard Naan?
Also great! ![]()
I’ll bet that’s much more flavorful than I’m used to!
It’s not horrible. I may or may not have eaten the first one off the griddle for quality purposes.

That aligns with my rule of bread- always make extras to eat immediately.
I’ll wipe out a whole batch of buns if I don’t have a snack before I put them in the oven.
Just . . . no.
I agree. Nope! It’s just gotten waaayyy outta hand.
Beer is the best intra/post work out drink.
Proteins & booze just sounds like a recipe for overpriced vomit.
That was my reaction.
And my generation invented the bottomless mimosa and four loko.
We used to drink grape kool-aid and everclear. Typically 2 pints per gallon.
You can’t get more smashed for 3 bucks.
Now thats a recipe for some very economical vomit.
Today I learned that if you are going to make a roast with Guinness, you have to add some other kind of liquid as well. It actually turned out pretty delicious. I had browned it in a big dutch oven, then deglazed it with beer, added onion, garlic and rosemary and let it simmer until the onions were soft. Then I put the roast back in and added the rest of the beer. In the oven at 350 for 3 hours. Very tender. Good flavor. A tad on the dry side.
