Vedders solo work for the movie Into the Wild was amazing.

You serious? It sounded forced and contrived. Awful.
They should have commissioned Chris Cornell.

you know that wouldve been worse, have you heard carry on or scream?

If he was still the same Chris Cornell that did Euphoria Morning it would have been amazing, the same Cornell that wrote Seasons and Sunshower could have put together an amazing soundtrack but the Cornell of today would have had to force it just as much as Eddie did.

Ahh… so you admit Eddie forced it.

how dare anyone compare scott stapp to eddie vedder? that’s like comparing jessica biel to rosie o’donnell.

I never said he didnt. But Cornell wouldnt have done any better.

thankfully his track “you know my name” for Casino Royale was pretty good, cause youve gotta be skeptical of everything he releases these days

I don’t like his new stuff either. But in his defense, what’s an artist to do, but evolve. Is he condemned to do a life-long Soundgarden retread? Would he be redeemed in your eyes if next year he returned to his heavier, gutsier sound of yore?

In any case, he will forever be a near legend in the rock vocal realm - his present output be damned.

Oh, and as far as the soundtrack for “Into The Wild” is concerned, the whole time I watched that film, I was thinking, “Travis Meeks would have been perfect for this.”

i dig mark tremonti, he’s got some serious chops…but scott stapp…ahh just want to punch him in the mouth

Totally agree.

But that doesn’t stop me from having some heavy Creed songs in my Workout Playlist.

Also… I’d take Creed over Nickelback any day.

lol

Have you ever seen Creed and Nickelback in the same place at the same time? 'Cuz I’m pretty sure they’re the same band.

Creed sucks.

To some extent, yes he would be redeemed in my eyes if he returned to more of the soundgarden style, even the first audioslave album was the shit. But i do appreciate that an artist needs to evolve, like i said, i absolutely love Euphoria Morning its just that it seems like he took a big step backwards going to carry on and Scream…i dont know what the fuck. i did see him in concert after scream came out though cause he still plays a ton of soundgarden, audioslave and temple of the dog, as well as a lot of EM.

And yeah hes a legend, in my opinion hes the greatest rock vocalist of all time, but im not such a nuthugger as to say i actually like his newer stuff.
