All I have been able to find so far are the notorious Romanian and Russian tribulus studies. Sorry to those countries, but those studies can’t be considered credible. I have tried TRIBEX and I enjoy it, but I am wondering what is the deal with some credible research. Anyone know?
I too would be curious to see some.
Found this while looking around.
Tribulus Terrestris is a potent herb that has been used for centuries in various parts of the world for it virilizing effects.
Because of it?s widespread use in the Eastern Bloc as a folk medicine for muscular strength and sexual potency, the Bulgarian government sponsored studies through the Chemical Pharmaceutical Research Institute (CPRI).
Outcome from these studies on Tribulus Terrestris and physical performance has been linked to the incredible success of the Bulgarian Olympic weight lifting team in the 1980s?.
Though this specific research on Tribulus Terrestris and athletic performance is closely held, this potent herb has an enormous following in virtually all athletic circles. When something works it spreads like a wildfire.
The Bulgarian studies on Tribulus Terestris focused on increasing testosterone production. It?s believed this increase did not come from a direct effect but an indirect one.
The CPRI literature on their studies showed an increase in luteinizing hormone (LH) by 71%. LH is the hormone responsible for ?signaling? your body to produce testosterone. Free testosterone (the unbound, active testosterone) was observed to be elevated by 41%.
Exactly how long this increase lasts is not fully known. It is however, well established that higher testosterone levels promote faster and greater muscle growth when combined an intense training program and a nutrient dense diet.
My first bottle of tribulus (from GNC, before I came here) had significant and noticeable effects for me, absolutely no question to it. That’s all I need to know. Who cares about studies if it works?

Ditto. It was night and day for me.
I know there’s a study out there done by someone at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I’ve seen it cited before…maybe I’ll see if I can find it.

The first part examines a study done by Dr. Joey Antonio and the second part examines a study by Dr. Scott McGregor on endurance bicyclists.
As I recall, these are the first two articles John Berardi ever did for Testosterone.

Do either oy you care to extrapolate on what effects you noticed.
Thanks.

Significantly increased libido and significant increase in spontaneous wood. Can’t quantify it, but one day I realized I was getting erect all the time for no particular reason, and I hadn’t noticed that for a very long time prior. That’s all I needed to know it was working.

Are there any good studies on eurycoma longifolia? I miss my RED KAT. The effects took longer (about 4 weeks) and were more subtle, but I liked it. I want more, but for a variety of reasons I don’t want to go the full Alpha Male route just for that. I guess I’ll have to buy from Pinnacle for now, huh? (chuckle)
I actually researched Longfolia a while ago before trying RedKat, check Pubmed and the studies are all over. I remember right, the jury is IN as far as that drug goes and it DOES increase test levels.
From all the science I can see, Alpha Male would be a great purchase if one had the money.

Hey TC, studies seem to be pretty impressive and make me glad I started taking TRIBEX recently. However, both John and the doctors seem to agree that the Ipriflavone is a big deal in the product, why was it omitted for the current formula?
Also, it seems that the participants used an exceedingly high amount of the product (400+ % of the recommended doasge). Might that have played into the results? Any chance of a study on the new product at the recommended dose?
for the poor man who cannot afford TRIBEX, how should one go about supplmenting tribulus? any suggestions? does one need to cycle? thanks

How old were you when you started taking it?

Alright…I dont consider myself poor by anymeans, but I’m not rolling in dough. TRIBEX is only 20 dollars, thats cheap. If you do the morning and night dosage its less than 40 a month. That shouldnt be considered a ton a money.
However, TC,Cy, Tim and the rest of the gang recommend a 5 on 2 off dosage. So basically take 2 to 4 caps Mon-Fri and then none on the weekend.
For the record, I have tried both Longfolia (Tongkat Ali) and TRIBEX (independently of each other) and I have noticed definite effects on the libido with both.
Without having done any blood work, I cannot say beyond libido that it has and significant effect on Test. However, the increase in libido would lead one to believe that test has increased (also very mild acne with TRIBEX).
Strange to me is that the effect is noticable right after taking either compound - which doesn’t seem so odd to me with Longfolia (as it is supposed to free bound test already in your blood) but TRIBEX reportedly stimulates luietenizing hormone (LH) to increase test production. This does not seem like something that would be immediate (i.e. 30 minutes after dosing) however the libido effect is exactly that.
The true test is to do blood work before and after. This has been discussed before on this board and a search function should lead you to relevant postings.
I am just lazy and have not ever done the bloodwork.

i live in singapore. converting it to sing dollar makes TRIBEX a bit more expensive, plus the shipping and handling and all. And you would not believe how overpriced the local gnc sells it here. i am, however, tagging along a friend who’s ordering from bulk nutrition to buy tribulus. so i guess it is a poor man’s substitute to me
so would u reccommend the same way for taking ordinary tribulus as well? and how many grams each time? morning, night? my weight is 99kg. that would be around 220 lbs i guess. 12 % body fat, 186 cm tall, if size and body weight matters. thanks, appreciate the guidance
