Creatine While Cutting

Honestly I’ve never tried it before. Everytime I’ve used creatine it was for when I was bulking up, but while watching Dennis Wolf’s video he says he takes creatine up to 6 weeks out from a competition. Are there any benefits to it? Because, I know I get somewhat bloated when I’m on it, so I’m not to sure.

What do you guys do?

take creatine while cutting.

i did and still lost 15lbs in 11 weeks.

its good for your muscles.

Should you take creatine while on a fat loss diet? I wouldn’t say that it’s a “must,” but it’s pretty darn close to being one. While on a diet, creatine will allow you to be able to sustain a higher level of effort in the gym. It’ll also swell your muscles which is helpful psychologically (you won’t feel as if your muscles are wasting away because they’re “flat.”)

I wonder if that applies to the V-Diet as well? I know Chris wanted to make the V-Diet as supplement-free as possible, with the exception of HOT-ROX of course

I wonder if the water retention caused by Creatine would interfere with it… hmm…

All I know is, I took Beta Alanine the entire time, and feel that it really helped keep the effort levels up.

Well that pretty much settled it right there.

I thought that diet was all supplements.

No, it’s all food… The only supps are HOT-ROX (which I don’t use). The rest is food… liquid and capsulized food of course, but food

Why would water retention interfere with fat loss?

No, it wouldn’t.

But would it interfere with the diet in other ways? Hmm…

You don’t use the fat burner on a fat loss diet? Pretty clever there.

Yeah imagine losing fat by EATING LESS AND MOVING MORE and CREATING A CALORIC DEFICIT.

Sounds too whacked out to be true… but I have lost about 17 lbs in 3 weeks without a FAT BURNER. Amazing how the human body works, isn’t it?

That’s too much weight for that amount of time. 5- 10 lbs. of that has to be muscle loss, probably even more.

Read up on the V-Diet before you make claims like that.

Your comment makes no sense. Maybe you’re just not that bright. Hmm…

haha I was wondering about the hmmm… as well. lol

A theory. Creatine allows for more ATP to be burned during exercise thus giving you the boost for those extra couple reps. If one were to use it on a low carb diet you would burn more ATP during workouts correct? So more ATP burned more glucose burned, more carbs, etc burned = less weight? A theory of course…I certainly don’t see creatine getting in the way of a fat loss diet. Some retain a little water but water weight is far easier to get rid of than fat.

I just go by what Shugart outlines in the V-Diet… So if he says don’t use creatine, I won’t use creatine. I guess he’s not too bright either.

He never says “don’t use creatine”. When asked all he ever said was he was trying to keep the diet simple and not overload the supplement requirements. He has agreed hundreds of times that creatine, BCAA’s, Beta-7, TRIBEX, etc. all would be great additions to the V-Diet if you can afford it and they fit within your goals.

Well that’s was a good try. Chris never said “don’t use creatine”. If he did, I would like you to post a quote from the article (here’s the link).

http://www.T-Nation.com/readArticle.do?id=546491

Just because he doesn’t include it in his supplement list, doesn’t mean “don’t use it”. Creatine is not used to burn fat, so in tht regard it’s not necessary to the success of the diet.

So keep trying to be witty and turn it around. It won’t work. Creatine wil NOT interfere with the diet. Hmmmmm…

Haahahaha! Nice catch. I think his user name just about sums it up.
