Costco’s good, but the other customers will only lower your opinion of humanity.
Uncle Gabby! You’re back![/quote]
Yeah more or less. Thanks, feels good to have been missed.

Maybe so but at least I’m not a complete and unredeemable bitch. I mean that in the best sense of the word.
Has some very good deals on certain items (berries, nuts, omega eggs, high quality fruit). I have to go to regular grocery stores for other things though.
i split the membership with my girlfriend so it’s pretty cheap. we go once every 3 or 4 weeks to stock up. we typically walk out with 20 lbs of chicken, 8-10 lbs of beef, a couple bags of shrimp / scallops, frozen berries, eggs, egg whites, frozen and fresh veggies, nuts, canned tuna, tomato sauce, protein powder, et. al.
sure, the variety can be on the low side and the other shoppers will make you want to blow the place up (especially when they’re in line for free samples and block a whole damn isle), but overall you can get a lot of stuff for a pretty good price.
Is this worth it for a single person?
although it was great someone mentioned the books, I do love to read.
had membership, let it expire while i kept up our Sam’s membership. Sam’s had several items cheaper. But at that, local grocery stores have some things (like produce) cheaper than Sams. Milk however is dirt cheap at Sams, 50 cents below stores.
The main thing that bugged me about Costco was the gas station. They only took ATM cards, and my bank charged a fee.
what i would do is take advantage of the inevitable “free weekend” they will offer to compare prices.

It is for me.
Frozen Chicken Breasts
Tuna
Cheese
Frozen Berries
Frozen Broccoli
Eggs
Cottage Cheese
Fish Oil
Cashews, Almonds, Walnuts
Olive Oil
all cheaper than the grocery store or Wal-mart.
Also, their rotisserie chicken kicks ass, and is only $5.

I was going to make reference to the source of protein evil grins. That is why she is so strong. But I am nice guy and it was waaaaay to easy. Besides O is one tuff girl! I would not want to piss her off. She could eat most men for breakfast and still look like a Lady doing it. I will go back under my rock now.
I am surprised no one mentioned the 5 dozen eggs. Great for hard boiling and eating as a quick protein snack. Our Costco has mostly organic items and also they have a gas station that sells a gallon on average 5 cents cheaper than others.
OctoberGirl…I think a single person would need storage space and maybe a food saver so nothing is wasted to get the moneys worth.
Costco + Foodsaver + freezer = huge savings on meat. We buy a whole sirloin (like a 3 foot slab of beef!) and chop it into steaks, and freeze them. Way cheaper than the grocery store. Other stuff like eggs, cottage cheese, hummus are way cheaper too (hummus is like 1/4 the price, same brand).
I don’t really like their produce section, so we just stock up every few weeks on meat, then buy produce at the grocery store.
Can’t speak for Costco but I like Sams. Everything is cheaper at Sams than a grocery store, even though you gotta buy bulk.
Yeah it sucks if you want fresh produce to have to buy a few pounds and then it goes bad but I just buy frozen-
fruits=smoothie
vegetables=stir fry
Walk in with cash and a list so you don’t overspend.
Go on a sunday night 15mins before they close so you won’t have to deal with dumbfucks getting in the way waiting for samples.
costco!! gotta love the giant spinage salad boxes!! and huge cottage cheese tubs. costco is way cool!
Cottage cheese is all I get there, as I’ve actually found the Super Walmart to have a lot more selection with the same prices.
I usually go once a week to week and a half and get 6 - 8 Knudsen cottage cheese tubs. lol, I always get weird looks from people.
thanks for the feed back I can’t wait for it to open to see if it’s decent or not
We actually had a Business Class membership as She Say was the Treasurer of the PTA. This let us get in at like 7 in the morning before it got full up with morons. I think the cost was
the same as a regular membership. Pretty sure you could make up some sort of reason why you’re eligible for a business membership…
Should be decent - here in Toronto we have several Costcos; they basically own the market since the Sam’s Clubs around here are all closing down…
As other posters have stated, Costco is worth it if you like to buy in bulk, have a large family or freezer…
In terms of actual items the occasional deal can be had vs. supermarkets or dept. stores but you have to be vigilant in watching their instore promotions. Also, if you are into cafeteria sized bottles of mayonnaise or a years’ supply of Vitamin C tablets, Costco is for you…
The clothing is a plus as they stock up to some XXLs
To repeat Uncle Gabby & ouroboro_s’ statements -
Something stupid comes over people when they a) try to find a parking space in a Costco parking lot on the weekend, & b) driving those bigass shopping carts/dollies like they are blind or something…
