So far. The Goldman numbers are a -24% dip in Q2 after a -6% dip in Q1. Don’t know what the rebound would be like in Q3 and Q4 to make that not a disaster.

I hope you’re right and, for the record, I’m not predicting anything, merely reporting the numbers that Goldman and JPM are spitting out.

Someone asked me today why people like Buffet went public to ā€œsootheā€ the markets in 2008 but hasn’t so far in this current situation.

I used a lot of Occam’s Razor and a little bit of conspiracy theory in my answer.

Possibly yes, but this isn’t a liquidity issue. It’s not credit that the problem. What could he do to improve matters?

I wouldn’t know personally, but I’m always being told that people always do what WB does, because.

In 2008, it felt like if (one more of) the right domino fell…

The biggest quarterly drop in growth I have seen is a -8.5% in 2008. -24% is frankly an abomination.

I’m not ruling it out, but I am bearish by nature, I am not seeing much good news on the economic front, much aside from the health front.

I am bearish on humans, not nature.

A fair retort.

I was hoping I could go on unemployment but it turns out I will be working from home. In fact, it turns out my employer thought I had been working from home this week. So I’ve been getting paid to work when in reality I’ve been posting here, walking my dog and watching Netflix.

Certainly not the most popular around here.

I buy two types of rice, plain white rice (the brand I prefer is Eagle Patna) and parboiled rice which I use for various types of seasoned rice, mostly because it doesn’t overcook easily and is less sticky. Basmati, jasmine, and brown rice all have strong tastes and I find they don’t go well with a lot of stuff.

Just wanted to say that to this date, the number of people here in Italy that have been reported by the police for having gone outside without an important reason over the past few weeks exceeds the number of people that have caught the virus by a factor of around 20,000.

That speaks volumes about how shitty a population we are.

Would you prefer to be like the Germans or Swiss? We’re the people who started the Renaissance for a reason.

But gone outside to do what? I think that keeping people locked up inside is a bit excessive, and in Europe most people in urban areas live in apartments which makes it even worse. I think you should be allowed to go outside for a walk, just not to hang out on the corner and socialize with people.

I would rather people stayed the fuck home so we can be done with this.

It’s worse in the USA.

If someone tells me that I have to stay at home with my hot, 24 year old spouse for weeks and can’t leave the house except to go shopping, I will wonder if I have died and gone to heaven.
