Coronavirus - What Happened?

Except choosing to avoid vaccination is a choice

Being Jewish, gay or disabled isn’t a choice.

Only murderers, rapists, thieves and child molesters should be removed from society

Not individuals who make choices pertaining to a vaccine

There is longstanding precedent for removing people from society because they pose a threat to public health. The principle is both entirely legal and entirely appropriate.

IQ test question: which one of these is not quite the same as the others??..

(just a drive by shoot…)

Theives

Still… stealing (with a few exceptions) is almost always deplorable.

The vaccine is meant to protect the individual not those around them. Those vaccinated can still catch covid and transmit it. How do the unvaccinated pose a threat to the public?

Also, thousands have been released from prison and arrests are not being made for criminal activity so… what public safety is of concern?

Because they fill up hospitals to the point wherein Joe coming in with a heart attack can’t receive treatment

In Germany ICU is currently 90% unvaccinated.

ICU capacity is typically far lower than one would think it is.

And you can post s source where a country with say… a 95% vaccination rate amongst the eligible is reporting a 50/50 mix between vaccinated and unvaccinated in ICU… this means the vaccines work and anyone who thinks this is an “aha! Gotcha” moment cannot comprehend the concept of ratios in hospital on a per capita basis as seen with %vaccinated vs %unvaccinated

It’s simple maths.

Vaccine mandates for school (flu shot) isn’t anything new. However I don’t like the idea of mandates

I think businesses should be able to choose, most would likely ban entry to unvaccinated anyway

You can dislike vaccines… fine, but you aren’t some special patriotic rebel for refusing to take a covid vaccine. If you have natural immunity… great! If you don’t, are above the age of forty yet refuse to get vaccinated I personally think that’s a bad idea.

Simply making an oblique reference to the tone of most of the posts in this thread, to be honest.

And I didn’t even take the cheap shot of noting the listed order of said egregious transgressions. Oh, wait.

Don’t remember them doing this during the aids pandemic, the bird flu pandemic, swine flu pandemic

Be careful what you wish for…you may be removed from society one day for a belief that you have and the ones in power don’t agree with it

This is a lie. I do not know about Germany but, it has been debunked in many states/cities, even NHS England reported on it.

Also, a “covid hospitalization” is anyone admitted to a hospital for any reason within 28 days of testing positive. So, it could be anything.

Of course thieves, but they should still be removed from society and placed in prison

It’s the talking of mandates and removing unvaccinated from society that is wrong

I have 3 friends that have health issues and were told by their doctors not to take the vaccine…should they be removed from society

Take the vaccine if you want, thats up to you…I got mine and I respect my friends and family that did not

By their potential to overwhelm available HC resources.

Yeah, it’s almost as if all pandemics aren’t the same, and thus a ‘one size fits all’ approach isn’t appropriate.

No one is being ‘removed from society for a belief.’

Yet…

I prefer the saying

“Give me Liberty or give me death”

You can keep living in fear

OK, let’s go down this rabbit hole. You object to public health laws. Does this mean drunk driving laws are an encroachment on liberty, and thus should be abolished?

ONS state you’re 32 times more likely to be hospitalised if unvaccinated. The only counter to that I’ve seen is where age standardisation is ignored. Where did NHS England report on it?

Strawman argument

Drunk driving laws does not prohibit me from drinking…it prohibits me from drinking and driving if I am over a certain limit of blood alcohol level

So…you think anyone not vaccinated should be removed from society?

“Slavery was Legal”
Segregation was Legal"

“Never use Legality as a guide for Morality”

Yup. Such laws temporarily limit your ability to move about freely, ie, they limit your liberty. And they do so for public-health reasons–to reduce the likelihood of you harming yourself or others. Just like pandemic laws. Therefore, in the interest of logically consistency, you must be against drunk-driving laws. If you’re afraid of being killed by a drunk driver, you’d say, then stay off the road–but don’t tell me what I can and can’t do.

So it’s either that, or you’re just another numbskull who gets mindlessly parrots FB memes (you know, the type who would actually compare pandemic laws to the holocaust).

So what’s it going to be, Mr. Henry–you for liberty, or nah?
