I didn’t know I needed evidence to present something as fact.

- Donald Trump is so superior in comparison to us mere mortals that he doesn’t even need to use the toilet.
I didn’t know I needed evidence to present something as fact.
If he didn’t need to use the toilet he would never post on Twitter.
He’s a stable genyis.
And you’re right. He doesn’t need to use a toilet, but he does anyways just to keep it real.
That’s a man of the people right there.
Day three shot update. Soreness which was never a big thing down quite a bit from yesterday. Today feels a bit like day one. Only noticeable if I do like a lateral raise or something. Just enough to notice but not enough to care.
Wouldn’t be surprised if tomorrow or the day after it’s back to baseline
There are a few here… but as more have gotten it and we have put more in the ground. That mind set is changed. But…
Day four update. Shot arm feels the same as before the injection. I’m guessing it’s over but will update if something changes. No side effects so far I’ve felt fine minus the localized soreness the whole time. I could still stand to lose a few pounds but I blame that on my daughter. I don’t want her to eat dessert alone.
Have you guys heard about this:
It’s impossible to know what percentage of doses are going to waste, but this isn’t good. Based on how many doses we bought from Pfizer, Moderna, etc. this seems like it could set us back weeks or months base on the goal of getting 70-80% of the population vaccinated.
I was talking to my Dad last night who just got his appointment for his first shot the week after next. He’s 80 so he’s towards the front of the line. He said he was talking to one of his friends yesterday who took his Dad to get his vaccine. The nurse asked him if he wanted a shot as well because some people hadn’t showed up for their shot and they’d have to throw out the vaccine after thawing it out. We should figure out a way to have a standby line for these unused shots. I don’t care if they go to some of the people who should be last in line as it’ll thin out the line in general.
The idea of tying stimulus checks to the vaccine has also been floated. Maybe it’s something to consider.
That sounds very Orwellian. What’s next? Putting conditions on getting your tax refund?
OK, how about just straight up paying people to get it? A nominal amount, $25-150? If the amount of doses that are going unused was known, we may be able to calculate the economic impact of providing an incentive to show up for appointments and get the vaccine. The article I posted above says that some places aren’t tracking unused shots for fear of bad press, but surely there’s a record of how many people actually did get the shot vs the supply.
Some companies are doing it:
Having to get paid to take a free vaccine that will hopefully prevent either death or long term health issues… hmmmm Darwin award candidate.
I know. That exact thought has occurred to me regarding this issue as well.
I think these type of things generally work fairly well.
I mean, being dead is more fullproof to stopping the spread than getting the vaccine.
I know you’re joking, but for any confused souls out there not sure… there already are conditions for you receiving your tax refund
Totally agree. Unfortunately while I’d be happy with ignorant people not taking the vaccine this is a real situation where ignorance costs all the rest of us economic and social freedom ![]()
Well how much of the population refused to vote throw on a mask for the two minutes they were in the gas station? At least with the vaccine you can make rational arguments against doing it right away, etc. Hard to do that when saying you can’t be bothered to do one of the simplest preventative measures ever.
Remember how this thread started?
Apparently the WHO does too:
WHO advisor: COVID-19 pandemic started via a lab leak | Ottawa Sun
Not this shit again. Why can’t they ever stay gone?!
This idea has some legs. If it’s true that it escaped from a lab it was most likely not designed with any biological warfare intentions and was actually being modified and studied to prevent a pandemic. Unfortunately we don’t know and maybe won’t ever know. Our ability to get early warnings on this type of thing from inside China was gutted and then terms like “China virus, Wuhan flu, and Kung flu” pretty much guaranteed that the lab outbreak theory would be treated with extreme skepticism.

A tangle of conspiracy and politicking has complicated the investigation into the pandemic's origin.
Intelligencer – 4 Jan 21

For decades, scientists have been hot-wiring viruses in hopes of preventing a pandemic, not causing one. But what if …?
Whether it came from a food market or a lab, China bears a lot of blame for suppressing the severity of the problem and it’s a pretty big oopsy that has costs millions of lives and trillions of dollars.
Maybe this is some poetic justice, as long as it stays there:

China is expanding its testing protocols to include anal test swabs for high-risk COVID-19 patients.
A biologist, Bret Weinstein seems to be level headed and feels an inadvertent lab leak is a strong hypothesis.

He talked about this on Rogan’s podcast several months ago as well.
