Coronavirus - What Happened?

Lockdown 2.0:

“Ok, Ren and Stimpy are on Netflix. Time to legalize shrooms!”.

I’m waiting for the the Christmas super surge.

Morning fellas.

Been a little while since I’ve been able to post around here. Between the gym and fiancé and I closing on a new house, I’ve been real busy. Papers upon papers, lawyer, etc. has been draining.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that although we may disagree a lot politically on Covid-19 and associated matters, I truly wish all of you and your families a safe and happy holiday season!

Yeah.

I keep hearing “I just want things to return to normal. I can’t believe they want to take away (insert activity here), especially in a year like this!”. They then proceed to go out and do what ever the fuck they wanted to anyways, all while whining about restrictions and coooooovid. They whine it out just like that.

And then the case/death count surges.

Then the same people turn around and say" If people would just do the right thing this would all be over and we could go back to norrrmal.".

I just want to punch the fucking morons right in their idiotic fucking faces.

And I’m so glad now that I never had any real bearing or attachment to." normal", what ever the hell that is.

Even when I’m being told by a doc I at least have some immunity for at least a 90 day window. I’m still following the same procedures I was following before it snuck in . Just so that i am not being part of the problem.

It will be interesting in seeing how many didnt learn from the surge from Thanksgiving.

Update… wife still not 100% recovered. She is only working half days. Still has lingering fatigue and body aches and her smell and taste shuts down on occasion.

Probably a good practice. We all still use the same common objects like door handles, shopping carts, and various other accouterments and public amenities, and it is also cold/flu season.

If this thing has exposed anything, it is how much saliva and other fluids people inadvertently exchange on a regular basis.

I’m avoiding a joke regarding buying a black light.

Ugh. Sorry to hear that.

Good grief! Scrooge would be proud, he had nothing like that kind of sway over people

Nick trolls incessantly. He didn’t used to, in recent years he’s just made that his go-to choice. It’s annoying, particularly when people on here have lost loved ones or relatives to Covid. He was called on that earlier by Z and others and it resulted in a temporary reemergence of sanity.

It was welcome, considering nobody is happy about the lockdowns, but unfortunately it seems he’s going back to trolling.

Fuckin’ Philly…

Goes for you as well man! Congrats on the house also

Yes, sorry to hear that as well. I hope she gets better quickly.

Nine months into #15daystoslowthespread? No. Only an idiot could possibly believe all of this is about a virus.

So what is you believe exactly? Be genuine. You where called a troll before.

I’m in the UK, I believe our leadership mishandled their response. Our scientists have given similar guidance throughout, I heard scientists say that it may take more than year back in march. The hospital capacity and excess deaths tell me that it is about a virus, and politicians unable to steer away from optics.

Pretty much set here too. With the hideous exception of buggering the early mask advice to avoid a shortfall in PPE (which happened anyway).

Pols can never step away from optics.

MN is in lockdown currently. I am excited that after the first month of lockdown the governor decided to let gyms open back up. We are now required to mask up at the gym, which IMO is a fair request as well as only have 25% occupancy. I went in yesterday which is always the slow day (and no staff on premise). I was a bit disappointed to see several members disregard the multiple signs posted nearly everywhere saying masks are required.

I don’t understand the stubbornness. I don’t understand the entitlement. I don’t understand the disregard for others. I can understand their position, but making such a big deal over a small request baffles me. I guess I am grateful to just be able to go back and lift, but they will likely ruin that for me.

What about the school closings?

Unless it interferes with their dinner plans (Gov Noisome), travel plans (Austin mayor), or just plain ol’ personal stylin’ (Pelosi).

I would be more disappointed in the employees who allowed it.

Libertarianism goes both ways. Individuals want to say “You have no right… I have my rights…”.

Well businesses can also say “Here are the rules. Don’t like? Get the fuck out.”.

Pretty much like how bars don’t allow fighting and the large majority of places that expect one to use the potty like a big boy when you’re there.

The response is ridiculous. There is no longer a doubt in my mind that government(any government) could tell people to set their firearms(or anything) out on the curb with their trash next week and have upwards of 95% compliance.

Yeah, I’m kinda upset about that. But I can see what the idea was, since we all know that kids are basically walking germ factories and college/HS kids essentially have no common sense in terms of how to behave regarding anyone but themselves (Covid parties? Really?).

I’m honestly less upset about that since initial thoughts were all over the place and nobody had any clue. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t great. It’s just that I can see the line of thinking.

Don’t get me started on these hypocrites… If you can’t abide by the rules, don’t fucking make 'em.
