Coronavirus - What Happened?

It’s also better for the economy. Temporary social distancing is much better than an entire population of sick people.

As long as we have electricity we’re good. Just keep printing!

Alas, yet another Irish contribution to the betterment of the world that is overlooked. It’s like the Celtic Christian missions to Europe all over again.

I was wondering if the writer was related to Phil.

You know what? @DeadKong This is definitely relevant, and much more worthwhile to post:

That appears to be the plan. The only plan…there is no plan.

Well, you need to make up for the River Dance.

Well our dude said you can’t default if you print your own money so let it flow man! Tax cuts for all money dropped from helicopters! We’re all rich!

Time to test his theory, I suppose.

Bah, you’re just intimidated by our clear prowess for the art of the dance.

I actually posted that article upstream, and then thought to withdraw it because I had never seen the publication before. I then thought I was rash, but you have done it now. I am sort of comforted if this maybe never kills more over the time it takes to get a vaccine than seasonal influenza.

No joke, guys. This looks like a bigger potential crash than 2008. We are well and truly in uncharted territory now.

I’m starting a commune and using toilet paper for currency.

As I understand it, it will likely be quite deadly. The second potential peak being even worse.

God, I hope I am wrong. This is a 1-2 punch, and a lot of innocent people are going to wind up destitute. At least that printer will keep going brrrrrr.

steel, how much for one of those? I want to tool around the cosmos with power and style.

Well if the whole world gets to a point where they can’t work we’re fucked like we haven’t been fucked before.

Just hoping it’s short term.

That depends, are you paying in USD? Or the currency of the future: triple ply charmin.

Likewise. If this is a protracted slump, this is FUBAR.

Edit: I don’t want to sound alarmist here, but I have never seen dips like this, and never have their been so few tools to act against it.

I think we’re seeing the beginning of something utterly unprecedented. I don’t see what the next steps to this are other than collapse.

No, because you don’t want an exponential rise in cases. Much of the 3.4% CFR is due to shortages in supplies, limited medical care from overstressed healthcare systems/hospitals and supply chain. An exponential rise in cases makes that much worse and will probably push the CFR higher.

So you want to flatten out the curve as much as possible to give the healthcare system the ability to cope with incoming cases, and supply chains the time to ramp up.

Letting it all go Darwin is a quick way to completely overwhelm the medical system, more than it already is.
