Coronavirus - What Happened?

My home ski hill opened this weekend. Saw my first altercation over the mandatory mask policy in the lift lines.

Predictably, it was a younger guy, dressed in hunting camo, screaming at an underpaid lifty “this is bullshit, stop living in fear, fucking Seattle libtards, etc”.

It’d be a bummer if the lifts get shutdown like they’re leaning towards in CA.

Just imagining the scene.

I still don’t get why LIBERALS are lumped in with the Far Left. The fucking commies PURGED AND PUBLICALLY EXECUTED LIBERALS during the Cultural Revolution ffs.

So what was the end result?

Not entirely sure. Guy was still standing maskless by the lift on my next lap (with a big smirk), but disappeared after that. Mask compliance, while not 100%, was really good this weekend. Surprisingly good actually.

The other base area where I usually ski is a lot less family friendly and violators of the local ettiquite get heckled and called out pretty mercilessly by the crowd. It’ll be interesting to see how that goes this season…

Sounds like my kind of place lol. Who says shaming assholes can’t work?

Three people that were there caught the COVID. Two didn’t know they had it; one died from his infection(he also had brain cancer and AIDS, and those conditions may have increased the severity of his COVID infection…but it’s doubtful.). Because masks are undoubtedly extremely effective at preventing the spread of disease, it was readily apparent the anti-masker intentionally killed the man. He has been charged with murder.

What a moron. Out of all the places to throw a shit fit, don’t do it at a ski hill. A bad day skiing is still a great day and you usually have something around your neck to use as a mask if needed. To stand there and argue after paying for a lift ticket doesn’t make sense even if you’re too stupid to figure out why mask rules are enforced.

I lived in Utah for 11 years and had a season pass every year, so I’ve seen the locals reactions to anything that slows a lift line down. Don’t do it…especially not on a powder day!

People posting on this forum have lost people they know to covid.

Telemarking off a helicopter drop don’t need no lift or mask (after exiting)

For real man, I have heart disease and it seriously fucked me up after working my ass off to recover from a heart attack. In slightly lesser condition I could see someone dying from this, easily.

If you’re enjoying good health and care free, count your blessings, because that may not always be the case.

But really, what the fuck is wrong with you?

Must you act like a total fuck head about this at every opportunity?

Do people not wear neoprene facemasks or neck gaiters anymore?

That seems like the dumbest time and place to throw a shit fit over being asked to put something on your face.

Like the lodge ski shops don’t literally have an entire freakin section dedicated to warm stuff to put over your face. :joy:

I don’t doubt it.

I don’t doubt this. You were told you were lucky to be alive, about a year-and-a-half ago, if I recall correctly.

I do.

No doubt.

Well, I’m not supporting or passing legislation banning facemasks, staying at home, “social distancing,” or COVID vaccination. I’m quite certain I’m not one of the ones acting “like a total fuck head about this at every opportunity.” I encourage everyone to do what he feels he needs to do to stay(or at least maximize his chances of staying) safe.

From the projects I’ve been getting, and from sources around Europe, this is what you’re going to expect if you don’t get your R0 down.

That’s right folks. You can deny the existence of COVID all you want. You can refuse to wear a mask even even though just a 50% chance of prevention will significantly reduce the R0.

But when this happens, don’t blame big tech, globalization, lockdowns, blah blah fucking blah.

This is the market responding. Not the government.

The YouTube bums you’ve been listening to are making their silly little videos from the comfort and safety of their own homes and making money. Just remember this.

TL:DR

Tech and related shit goes up
Everything else goes down

Oh, btw, this is what the bums on YouTube aren’t telling you about businesses, especially smaller ones, when lockdowns happen:

So…why do governments have to prohibit people from going out, certain businesses from opening, etc.? If it’s the market, government lockdowns would not have happened(or would have been unnecessary, because people would just say, “I wasn’t going out again anyway.”).

Of course. It should be obvious that what’s allowed to operate normally is going to go up to fill the vacuum created by everything that isn’t. Plenty of small business-people have griped about it.

What happens to consumer spending when people are afraid to go out if the numbers get higher and higher? You think businesses will survive? Have you ever been in business before? Did you see what SARS did to the Asian markets even without any form of lockdowns?

It can be argued that the lockdowns actually SAVED plenty of small businesses because they could default on rent and other stuff that I wouldn’t expect non-business owners to understand. Plus whatever stimulus packages your government handed out.

Seriously, dudes, stop listening to bums on YouTube.

Dude, covid-19 is a Democrat hoax manufactured to instil a new world order. This is common knowledge

It doesn’t exist, it’s just the flu. Even though you’ve personally had it and suffered I’ll abide by my flawed narrative because someone shared a “plandemic” video on my Facebook feed.

This is how you can tell the kids from the adults.

Here I am scrambling because of a developer shortage worldwide for a specific project while some small businesses I frequent are telling me rent is killing them because of the lack of customers DESPITE having minor restrictions and virtually zero local cases. All this while having to extend production schedules from trusted long time contractors on the physical production end because they had to retrench workers and ending up with pissed off clients who also have their own deadlines and other shit with their other contractors to deal with.

And then we have kids going, “Ooooh you’re wearing a face diaper! Haha you’re so terrified! What a fairy!” and are actually SURPRISED when the government decides to start imposing new lockdowns as if this didn’t happen like erm… A couple of fucking months ago.

Shit, let’s just entertain the idea that this is all a hoax. Yes, the government is going to drown itself in debt just to achieve their plans for complete totalitarian control with a fake virus that’s way less deadly that the flu if it even exists at all.

So what? The whole fucking world believes it. You think you and your youtube pals with their 300K subscribers are going to change anything?

At least they’re smart enough to make money selling you stupid ideas for views and you’re stupid enough to listen to them and make the situation worse so they can make more money giving you even more stupid ideas for views.
