Shutdowns are and always were a TEMPORARY mechanism to buy time–both for the hospitals’ sake and for figuring out a strategy to deal with this thing while maintaining some economic viability.
Only problem is nobody got shit done during that time so there is no strategy. They all sat on their thumbs. And of course compliance on shutdown was lower than needed, so both of the worst possible things happened. This has been my beef with the response for a while now.

This might end up eventually being true in this country but it hasn’t been reflected in others. Some places have all but eradicated it and can be fully open. But they were taking it seriously. Either way to say everyone is going to get it no matter what is stupid. While they were doing things that they were told would be effective we were saying masks are Nazi germany and having coronavirus parties where infected people showed up or we had a senator who’s a fucking doctor swimming laps in the pool after possible exposure.
Correct. And considering we don’t have people who will do SUPER SIMPLE TASKS that may prevent the spread of this it’s no wonder other countries have seen success where we haven’t. And we won’t have that success because we have the people who have determined a mask in a store is the epitome of oppression. Again I ask how did we ever get these people to put on pants? How did no shirt no shoes no service ever work? I’m beyond baffled at the people who will cover their balls and torso in public daily but are livid at the idea of covering their mouth and nose during a pandemic.

Bullshit. It’s all been leading up to this. They have a social security number for me, make me pay taxes, know where I live, are one of the many people who are tracking my presence on the web, etc. But it’s all been leading up to what they have wanted all along. For you to wear something over your mouth and nose while in Wal-Mart. The pandemic is fake the deaths are fake the government will cease all the other stuff because they finally got what they want. They finally got what they’ve wanted since the start. I put on a mask for the 32 seconds I was in a gas station today. And my freedom died completely. No one cared that I had my balls out now. Pants were never what they wanted. As long as my mask was on everyone and the government was happy.
It was a very elaborate ploy. I was scared shitless last week when I felt like I got hit by a truck and started coughing up blood.

Yes wearing masks has been talked about by some as being similar to Nazi Germany. Would kids have even wanted to survive the Holocaust if they knew they were going to have to put down solitaire on their phone and wear a mask when they bought milk as they became old?

Oh, I know. Before I shut them off I tagged a few people on FB with a pic of me in a 130 degree steel box, wearing 2 layers of PPE, a welding hood and a respirator burning flux core at about 10K degrees with “Tell me all about how you can’t walk around an air conditioned grocery store! ”

In fairness if you’ve seen the obesity in a lot of the areas with the biggest “you’ll never catch me in wal mart with a mask people” it may be worth considering. Most can barely waddle to the door with shorts that don’t fit and a wife beater on. A mask just might make the breathing while they buy ten 2-Liter bottles of Dr Pepper damn near insufferable for them. Thank god they can post on Facebook about it all being a deep state plot though.

I think that the drug that shall not be named plus zinc was part of the cocktail that @thefourthruffian (plus others?) received when he came in close contact with an employee that had Covid with symptoms.
Not 100% sure, but I don’t think he got sick; no idea on the others.
